I just did mine and used some silicone to hold it in place, then lubed the top. The pool store told me to use marine goop to hold it in place. Put it back together and let it sit for 24hrs before using. Wrong or right this is what was recommended to me and it seems fine so far.

I'm on the fence between solar and heat pump. Right now we can't afford both. We live on the treasure coast in FL and our roof faces due south. We have an attached spa, so either way we need an electric heater. we bought the house two years ago and it had an older Hayward electric spa heater...

FC 17 CC .5 late morning. Must have just been a testing error. At this rate it will be several days just to get back down to normal. I know conditions can vary a lot. But what's an average FC loss over a hot sunny day?

partly sunny, screen enclosure, not covered. I'll test in the am, see what I get. It was getting dark when I tested, maybe that was the problem? maybe our pool guy is sneaking over here during the day:confused:.

Thanks for the info. I tested again this am: FC 18.5 CC 0 then tested again this pm (24hrs after incident;)) and got the same results: 18.5 CC 0. am I doing something wrong? shouldn't the FC have dropped throughout the day?
