Need help understanding chlorine levels for SLAM.

Assuming those are 6" tiles, the spa is approximately 7ft x 9ft. Approximating the depths and seat size, I get a volume of 1100-1200 gallons.

Need help understanding chlorine levels for SLAM.

I know you said it worked last year, but are you sure your volume is correct? 2500 gallons seems high for that spa pictured. A square is easy to verify volume. What are the dimensions: Height, water level to seat - Height, Seat to floor - Length and Width of upper sides - Length and with of...

    Help with evaluating SWG usage...

The K1005 test kit listed in your signature is missing the FAS/DPD test for more accurate and higher chlorine levels. The K1515 is the stand alone FAS/DPD kit that you can get for that. For ph, I think I've seen 6 months to a year as a common time frame to stop rising from new plaster. I feel...

    Help with evaluating SWG usage...

Another data point as I am just outside Houston. I bumped my output up to 3.5ppm/day a couple weeks ago and we're looking at 90 degree weather already next week so it may go higher soon. At 5ppm you are running at the low end of target and close to minimum. Staying at the higher end of target...

    Fine dust/silt collecting daily?

It's been pretty windy in most of Texas the last few weeks. It's also the time when pollen covers everything. Also leaves, but maybe you don't have many trees near your pool. I've been running my robot twice a day right now. Most of the year I only run it every week or 2. Once with the regular...

2 big vs 3 small lights

Retro R10 — Spa Electrics Inc. lists the specs for the 10 inch retro specifically. 3200lumens for white or multi color. 1000 lumens for blue. Maybe a little extra wiring for the connector, but shouldn't really be any difference once installed.

    Pool Quote. Jupiter Florida

The prices don't match. The spelled out hundred and thirty eight matches the total of scheduled billings added up so it is probably the $135,500 number that is wrong, but I would still have them clarify.

4 year old pool but recent subscriber trying to learn the science and fix CYA

Wait until you can test with your own kit before making any adjustments. Besides the questionable accuracy of pool store tests, they report adjusted alkalinity. You need the non adjusted number for pool math.

How best to prevent freeze damage in NC?

You're still in the 20's. Circulating water alone can work indefinitely and at even lower temps. That sounds like it should work.

How best to prevent freeze damage in NC?

You don't need to run the heater. Moving water alone will prevent freezing. You somehow need to switch between spa and pool modes regularly to keep water moving through all pipes. Do you have automation with freeze protection? That would do it automatically. Otherwise doing it manually all night...
