Vacation for 3 days - use the pucks?

I don’t think the pucks will be viable as they take so long to dissolve (I floated 4 of them when I started filling after replacing the liner and they took 2 full weeks to dissolve). You may be better off raising to SLAM level right before you depart.

    Well point pump options

It collects ground water. After the installer located the pipe and connected his pump to it, water stopped seeping into the empty pool shell.

    Well point pump options

Well, the pump that was hooked up sure did a decent job of moving water from underneath my pool to the corner of my lot.

    Well point pump options

I have just had a new vinyl liner installed. The installer located a well point that I was unaware of (two previous installers didn’t even mention such a device). It is not a large diameter pipe that will fit a sub pump. It is a 1.5” unthreaded PVC that was capped and was a few inches below the...

    1. Cant Shock w/o getting Iron Stains & 2. Sodium Bicarb Making Water Milky

Well, you’re in the right place to get you right. It’ll take some time and effort at first, but if you follow the advice of the experienced folks on this forum, you will end up with a pool clearer (and safer) than you’ve likely ever seen.

    1. Cant Shock w/o getting Iron Stains & 2. Sodium Bicarb Making Water Milky

The price is far less than the cost adding unneeded chemicals based on untrustworthy test results.

Slam liquid or non liquid bleach

Either of those are good. You will need slightly less of the more concentrated to achieve the same result as the other one.

Slam liquid or non liquid bleach

Sodium hypochlorite is what to look for. Home Depot and Lowe’s generally have liquid chlorine if you have either of those nearby.

Most effective way to have some peace and quiet

I’d absolutely recommend a VSP in your case. You only have to run it fast enough to make the skimmers work. Super quiet and use far less electricity to boot. I’ve only had mine for a couple of weeks and I won’t see my utility bill until the first week of June so I don’t know how much less I’m...

    First testing numbers

Welcome! Yes, FC is a tad high. It is safe up to SLAM level (10 for your CYA of 20). That will drift down on its own in short order so your plan there is good. Your pH should be increased along with the CYA you mentioned however. I think you have to take action to reduce TA though. I don’t think...

Convert an Intex pump to a Hayward... HELP!!!

As long as the pump flow rate doesn’t exceed the filter’s maximum flow rating, you should be fine as far as I know.

FAS DPD test - What am I doing wrong - 4 tests in a row - 4 different results

You only need enough powder to turn the solution pink, normally one scoop. Start adding drops immediately. If conducting the CC test, start immediately after the solution goes clear. It will turn pink again if allowed to sit.
