    Green clear water

Sounds like a fun process along with getting the salt levels back to normal. I’m thinking the poly fill method in the skimmer and pump and dump might be good.

    Green clear water

The iron likely comes from overspray from Florida well water. The water was fine through the mild winter we have but when the temps started rising the metals started showing up. I might try the poly fill method first, but a pump and dump is likely my option. I’ll continue to see if other have...

    Green clear water

As I have the past few years, I started seeing stains from the returns on the liner as temps come up. In the past three years I’ve just bought a bottle of vitamin C and stuffed them in a sponge that had a slit cut into it. This year I bought a bottle of powdered ascorbic acid. Following the...

    Grayish film on white areas

I've got the SWG set at 20% running 8 hours at this time 6 PM to 2AM (helps keep the water cooler and more refreshing). I'll dial that up and bring the FC level up which is easy enough and monitor.

    Grayish film on white areas

After the recent liner replacement, refill, and balancing the water looks great and feels great. However a month into the pool being open I am noticing a grayish film on the stairs and skimmer trim. I'm wondering what this might be other than sunscreen or body oils, but the swimmer load has...

    Vinyl Liner replacement

I used a GoPro 3+ that I had laying around, mounted it using a suction cup mount on a window that faced the pool. The GoPro was set in TimeLapse mode with one picture taken every 60 seconds. In hind site, I wish I would have used a every 30 seconds to better capture the progress. Once I have...

    Vinyl Liner replacement

After 10 years, four of which were owned by me, it was time for a liner replacement. The original liner was still holding fine, it was the track that holds it in which had failed due to poor installation practices by the original builder. They used standard screws to hold the track in versus...

    pool light and swtich issue

It’s an old school X10 system. If you pry the cover off the switch you will see two dials. One is the house code A - P the next will be a unit code 1 - 16. The remote is used to turn the associated switch on/off.

    Hayward vs Circupool RJ45 SWG

Was just lurking around and saw this thread. I bought the Si40 four years ago when they were doing a sale on them where you would get a upsize. I had ordered the Si30 and received the Si45, bonus! Considering that I only have a 14.5k gallon pool, I knew this was going to be overkill. The good...

    Test results Using TF100

Jonette, I don't know if you have a Winn-Dixe around where you are, but the one close to me had 3 pound jugs of granular CYA for $7.99, which is half off, and about 30% cheaper than Lowes, no idea about a pool store's cost though.

    after the Rains

I haven't noticed too much change after rains, until we had around 16 inches of rain in 24 hours . I saw all of my levels drop quite dramatically, after doing some calculations, I essentially had around 20% of my water replaced. Hopefully that won't happen again for a while!

    Deal on Stabilizer

My local Winn-Dixie store has Aqua-Chem stabilizer on clearance for $7.49 for a 3 lb. jug. Obviously your results may vary, but it might be worth checking out.

    Help on valve settings

That is kind of what I was thinking since the Polaris will vacuum the floor. Thanks for the tip on the valves! Sent from my GT-P3113 using Tapatalk

    Help on valve settings

A couple of weeks into the new to me pool, water is clear, chemistry is right, now to figure things out. I have noticed that the skimmers don't do a great job of skimming. If there is a good wind storm, and the pine needles and palms attack the pool, they will congregate in the skimmers, but...
