I'll be finishing it with veneer stone. I really haven't figured out the top but we were considering either a concrete counter top or granite.

Dr. Dave or anyone else with input. I just visited the big orange box and was only able to find Hardie Backer in 1/4 thickness. They did have Durarock in 1/2 pieces. Is that OK to use as well?
