    High Chlorine

Bperry, prior to the snowstorm we had a few days above 50. Then pretty much right afterwards we shot up to 55-60 degrees and rainy. It's definitely been a warmer winter compared to last season.

    High Chlorine

Yep, counted over 100 drops of regent before it started to dissapate. I just ordered a two new bottles. I really wanted to know what I was dealing with. SWG likely was making chlorine when the temps would stay above a certain level. In Tennessee we can have 60 degrees for 3 days and down under...

    High Chlorine

It's about 43 degrees F right now. I think the initial issue was at overwintering, I left the SWG at about 5% for a week before cutting it down after turning off the heater. With the heater cranking in the fall, it burns plenty of FC every day. I don't use CYA really because even in the summer...

Yep agreed. Appreciate the insight from both of you!

    High Chlorine

Thanks mknauss! Appreciate it. Mgtfp, it's a safety cover, so it needs to stay on when we can't visibly see the pool. I'll be keeping it open the next few days, but it needs to close up at night.

    High Chlorine

Thanks mknauss. Nothing I should be worried about safety wise with an FC count that high? My wife was freaking out I was going to inhale some chlorinated gas, lol. Sounds like I can just stick to plan of backwash, refill, and wait for sodium thiosulfate to arrive. **edited to add that the SWCG...

    High Chlorine

Hey Folks - I made the mistake of leaving my SWG at 1% over the last few weeks, and my FC count is over 50PPM. The pool is covered. I purchased some sodium thiosulfate which should get here in a couple days. Should I avoid diluting the pool through backwashing and refilling? Is PPM at this...

    Pool Heater FLO Issue

I'll get the touchscreen information as soon as I'm home. I've updated the heater info in my signature, it's a Summit XL140 electric pump.

    Pool Heater FLO Issue

Hey All - I have an issue with my electric heater. I had a FLO issue a couple months back that I fixed myself by troubleshooting the hayward data pad and the heater. We had a power outage last night, and now the FLO issue is back, even after I applied the same fix to make sure the data pad is...

    Heat pump Question

Hey All - My pool's heater is running, but it seems like it struggled to keep up last night. Temps dropped into the mid 50's last night (cooler than normal tis time of year) but they are back into the low 70's today. I have my heater set at 87, and the temp is at 82 as of this morning after...

FLo Error on New Hayward Summit XL Heater

So, to close this one out - I solved it. The Omnipad was set at 91, but the temp has been set at the heat pump itself. My water temp was at 91 as well. So what was happening was a FLo error because I think the Omnipad set a "governor" on the temp. I reset the breaker, and kicked up the...

FLo Error on New Hayward Summit XL Heater

Will do - the PB's tech said he thinks it's an issue with the software and the interface if I'm not mistaken. He said they've installed new switches on all 3 and it hasn't fixed the problem.

FLo Error on New Hayward Summit XL Heater

Yes, it was working last night. Our water is actually sitting at 90 right now, with the pool cover on. The PB's tech just called me and is going to come out tomorrow. He said they've had this issue with 3 different hayward heaters and mine would be the 4th. They are defaulting to the...

FLo Error on New Hayward Summit XL Heater

Thanks, I was hoping it was something easy, but perhaps it's not. I have a call into him, they've just been not so timely with responding.

FLo Error on New Hayward Summit XL Heater

Also, PB called me back and told me to put the valves back after talking with his tech. I've done that and now the pressure is back down to 10-12.
