    I have dead algae too..and high CYA

    Having the same issue with dead algae… seems to return each day, even after vacuuming. Used the test kit, and as best can tell my FC is 11 ppm, CC is .5, but my CYA test seems way too high… 100+ ?! Added the drops, cloud obscures the black dot, but the level is not even under up to 100? Must be...

    Anyone know what this fitting does?

    Does anyone know just what the function is of this valve piece seen below? Whenever the pump is turned off it starts leaking water? Is this normal... broken.. can it be bypassed or replaced... or? Little help... please? Thanks, --- Nicodemus

    Thank you all for your input, very helpful. Question: once these heavy thunderstorms blow over tomorrow.. will check the chemistry. If the Ph is too high is it muratic acid to bring it down? Is there any trick to dropping Ph.. ? Thanks, — Nicodemus
