    Choosing Suction Pool Cleaner

I did. They are our of both Active 20 and S200. They offered a Pentair Warrior SE (SKU 360494) for a better price. The person I spoke with said it is the same product re-labeled by Pentair.

    Choosing Suction Pool Cleaner

Thank you. My outlet is 50ft from the farthest end of the pool and 15 ft from the nearest end. I think it will reach. The S200 is advertised at $849 with Marina. Dohney's Discovery looks almost identical but not sure if it's the same. The new one is at $749 and a discounted return is $609.99. Is...

    Choosing Suction Pool Cleaner

I've been convinced by responses to my query about suction cleaners to go for a robotic cleaner. I have an outlet within 50 ft of the farthest end of the pool and intend to leave the cleaner in the pool all the time . All I need is a model that will: a- clean the whole pool including the walls...

    Plaster stained and faded color

Our pool is about 15+ years old and the plaster color is variously faded and stained in some places. I've attached photos of the spa where you can see the stains and faded patches as well as some chipped plaster. Other than re-plastering, what can one do to restore the color/finish of these...

    Choosing Suction Pool Cleaner

There were a bunch of problems e.g. its footpad wears off and needs to be replaced annually, the pleated seals lasts no more than 2 seasons, the flapper stops flapping without anything being stuck in it and most commonly, it often stops moving and I have to play with the water inlet valves until...

    Choosing Suction Pool Cleaner

Thank you for pointing out the benefit of rotating brushes to clean the walls and other surfaces. What do you think of Zodiac MX8 Elite which has the rotating brushes? There's no doubt about the benefits of robot cleaners. We just don't use the pool much and are trying to maintain it at the...

Would you please share the make and model of the canister are you using with MX8?

    Choosing Suction Pool Cleaner

I'm in the market for a pool cleaner as my Kreepy Krauly has worn out after 2 years. Fortunately, I don't get a lot of leafs and debris and I've never had to vacuum the pool manually. I have read the Pool School article and much on the topic of pool cleaners in this forum and wish to stay with...

    Calcium Hardness test failure

Thank you for your guidance. I have no idea why it didn't change colors initially. It could be an error on my part.

    Calcium Hardness test failure

Thank you. I tested tap water as advised. It took 4 drops of R-0012 in 10 ml of water for it to turn from light pink to light blue. After confirming the reagents are working, I diluted 12 ml of pool water with 12 ml of distilled water and repeated the test. The color turned light blue after 19...

    Calcium Hardness test failure

I've been working on cleaning and balancing our in-ground pool after 5 weeks of absence. It's clean but not balanced. I added a whole gallon of Muriatic Acid last week and pH is still out of range. Currently it is undergoing Shock treatment and here are the test results: pH: 8.2+ (don't have a...

Pool pump circuit breaker keeps tripping

Thank you. My current motor is 1HP and pump plate has SF 1.65. If I go with 0.95hp motor and associated impeller, how does SF come into play? Would this motor & impeller combination still get me the needed gpm? Would It need to be run for a longer time than the current combination?
