    Mesh Pool Cover Help.

I need some help selecting a mesh pool cover. We have an odd shaped pool similar to a figure eight. I want to get a rectangular shaped one and use rope or something like that to pull it taut. Hoping to keep leaves and pine straw out. I tried a tarp but it was a mess and ended up dumping a lot...

Starting a renovation on older inground, Chicago

If an acid wash (with a pressure washer) would make an issue with the plaster, chances are it would be unusable any way. It is always diluted, after all a human is pressure washing it. No way of not getting splashed from it:rolleyes: OOPs sorry went to wrong post.

Should pump be entirely filled with water up to lid?

Mine is dome shaped and never has any air bubbles in it unless the water level has gotten too low (in the pool) or once when the gasket on the lid was shot and I replaced it.

Anyone ever tried the new "FilterBalls Blu 10 Advanced" instead of sand ?

Just wondering. Seems like the bio stuff I used to used when I had aquariums.

    Another Hybrid Pool Question

I am going with the paint option on the fiberglass part. The only blistering we had was at the waterline, so I am going to sand that down with an angle grinder and after it is painted 2 coats I am going with a stick on applique border hoping it will take some of the heat from the sun off of the...

    Another Hybrid Pool Question

Let me know what you find out. My walls are in pretty good shape. The coping is cracked, but we plan on tearing out the old deck at some point and using pavers so will solve that then. IF we can get this dinosaur in better shape.

    Another Hybrid Pool Question

Apparently it was a thing back in the day. I have one. circu somewhere in the 60's (home was built 1964,) not sure if pool was added later though. Just bought the house several years ago and did some work on it and was able to swim 3 years, now back at square one. Click on my previous posts to...

Help with pool deck and stair issues

    Hybrid Fiberglass Pool major remodel.

Hi dq7256! Great Job! Maybe I missed the total cost. I too inherited a hybrid pool. You should be able to click on my name and see the work we did on our pool. Ours was a moderately cheap fix. We bought new equipment and just this last year we added a SWG to it. The paint has lasted 3...

Manual vacuum pressure too strong in fiberglass pool

I too am worried about that. I currently only have one return and one jet (old pool in need of additional leak repairs.) Planning on vacuuming today. I have concrete bottom and fiberglass sides, my only worry being the hose might collapse. Should I be worried? Only have used my robot to...

Dang it! The New Pump Won't work either!!!!! WTH

So Tested the water at home with my little kit (Pool master 5 way test kit) and my 3 different bottles of test strips. And all looked good to me. CC has been holding the whole time my pump was out. Neighbor rolled his eyes at me and said he used to service pools, "let me know if you need help...

Dang it! The New Pump Won't work either!!!!! WTH

WE HAVE LIFTOFF!!! Woot Woot (as my daughter says!) Checked out the new plug I had installed and it seems I had tightened the screw down on the neutral so hard I had broke it off. Now hopefully after running a while it doesn't throw the breaker like the other one. I need a cold one, a...

Dang it! The New Pump Won't work either!!!!! WTH

Got everything hooked up, and the new pump does not turn on either. Even took the non working timer out of the equation too(worked with it hooked up to it before-just did not ever shut the pump off) by unhooking it and straight wiring to the pump wiring. I have power according to my power...
