First winter with mesh safety cover

NewDude, that's what i had in mind. I know I'm overthinking it - at least for the first year - but my thought is to check it every month (until it freezes) - then drop in a pump and draw out water down to the top step or a bit lower. I'm guessing i'll likely adjust the timing if we get a lot...

First winter with mesh safety cover

My pool is 20 x 36, Grecian style with vinyl liner. about 30 years old. concrete walkway around pool about 3' wide, some landscaping/hardscaping and a privacy fence. I'll check with the installers, maybe they have some documentation from the manufacturer on water depth. Thanks,

First winter with mesh safety cover

Good day, all, I'm getting a micro mesh cover installed next month and wonder if I'm going to need to keep an eye on the water level over the winter. I live in Eastern PA and typically get quite a bit of rain from Sept through April while the pool is covered. I've always had a solid floating...

New winter cover - mesh or solid safety cover

NewDude, Thanks for your story. So you have a lot of sediment, and you vacuum it up. I'm guessing into your main filter. That's another question. Doesn't that mess up a sand filter. I back wash mine at the beginning of every season and when i close. Will all that "sediment" get flushed out...

    Safety cover

I had a reply from another seller. They said that if i use a rectangular cover on a grecian pool, it voids the warranty. I've read that there is reinforcement around the edges to help with the rubbing of the cover on the edges of the pool. If I don't use the right size/shape, then the rubbing...

    Safety cover

Good day, all, I have a rather unique question (at least for me) I'm replacing my pool cover (solid/floating) with a safety cover (solid with center drain). I have a 20x36 grecian pool and the covers for a grecian are 25-50% higher than a rectangular. I have plenty of space around both ends...

New winter cover - mesh or solid safety cover

rccarps2, Thank you for your post. I have a friend of the family that bought a house 3 yr ago with and pool and with a mesh cover. He's the one that alerted me with the sand/sediment/pollen story. He has a company come in and open the pool for him, but they won't touch the sediment at the...

New winter cover - mesh or solid safety cover

i saw those two choices. I'm looking at the one with the drain. just to avoid having to pump the cover every time it rains. My concern is all the pollen getting in the water. And then getting into my sand filter and clogging that up.

New winter cover - mesh or solid safety cover

I've had a vinyl cover(s) on my pool for 20 years. The kind that you put on the water and weigh down the sides with water tubes. It's time again for a new cover and i'm considering a safety cover - my choice is mesh or solid. I live in south eastern PA. I know the differences: water draining...
