Think I got it fixed! Now the cartridge filer is the only think that appears to be dripping from the bottom, I screwed the cap back on so not sure what the issue is there either

Had to drain pool pumps and heater connection due to ice storm. Reconnected everything today and I have a slight leak/drip at this connection. I tried some plumber tape which helped a little but there is still a slight drip. Any suggestions?

Yeah interesting, no back butter needed but it sure is noticeable when you are up close. Maybe I won’t be looking that hard once there is water in the pool

I think the argument is if they back butter it would have thinset in the places grout would be so they wouldn’t be able to grout?

Yes the backing was on the face so they press into thinset then peel it off

I just asked one of the workers and he said they didn't backbutter the tile because it had a sticky backing and not mesh backing. Im guessing thats exactly why it isn't smooth as they just applied the thinset to the gunite and then stuck the tiles onto it.

This tile doesn't seem to have any mesh backing, its literally individual glass tiles 1x2. it comes with a sticky backing but once installed I think you remove the backing. Its mastertile 1x2

Yes they still are doing the decking and have to prepare the pool for the plaster. I know its cosmetic but when this company gave me a bid, they said they weren't the cheapest but they would do good work so I feel like since I agreed to pay a premium, the work should be perfect.

Was reviewing the work of the Tile guys and took some pictures. Are you supposed to see those lines in the thinset? Also there are areas where it looks like thinset is missing. Is this just "normal" or should I be bringing this up to the workers. They need another payment tomorrow so may hold...

Gunite done. I had to leave for work, They didn't put in the umbrella sleeves in the tanning ledge. I guess not the end of the world, maybe better to just have umbrellas on the deck instead of in the pool shell.
