    Drain for Hayward DE filter

This may be off-topic, and if it is I'm sorry, but I'm curious. To where do you drain your dirty DE? I laid hose to a gutter drain which resulted in a big mess in the street (should've known that's where it went... i was desperate... and kinda slow lol). There has to be better way, right?

Time for a new pool filter?

I'm by no means an expert, but for what it's worth, my pool is just about the same size as yours and my Hayward EC65A does the trick nicely. Had a tough green algae bloom at the beginning of last season because of poor closing by the previous homeowner and it cleaned it up in about two days...

Cracked return lines... bypass in place... but need help!

Cracked return lines... bypass in place... but need help!

If this is a silly question, please forgive it and we'll chalk it up to me being a novice. But would it be possible to run a slightly smaller gauge line within the existing lines thereby eliminating the need to dig ground and break concrete? And JasonK, thanks... I'll take a look at the pics to...

Cracked return lines... bypass in place... but need help!

That's what I was afraid of. :brickwall: Thanks so much for the reply, though. Had the issue been properly disclosed to us pre-sale, we likely would've offered less or even walked away from it. Darn.

Cracked return lines... bypass in place... but need help!

Hello everyone. This is my first post, so please go easy on me. My wife and I purchased our home last year (February) so this summer marks only our second pool season, as this is the first time we have a pool. We did not know at the time of purchase that the return lines to the pool were cracked...
