You made the right choice. It is quite easy as well, just be super careful to sand the pvc surfaces that will be clued together, clean the surface with appropriate acetone or cleaner (not too much or u will dissolve the pvc) and then apply pvc glue to both pieces, and within 1 minute, put it...

Intex stuff seems very flicky. I bought a chlorinator that seemed DOA. Nothing happened when plugging the cord. Unscrewed the cover, and found one loose cable inside. Put it back into its socket and it now works perfectly.
