    Does Muriatic Acid go bad?

If it was sealed stuff then I’d be ok with leaving it but not worth any weird hassle afterwards if it was open bottles. Who knows what someone could/would say.

    Air at start of pump

I agree with above. Go through simple things like pump cover and drain plugs. You’d be surprised how a little extra lube takes care of that and nothing is actually “broken”.

    Salt level

Same battle I’ve had but with Hayward. It’s always been about 400 higher on the cell compared to the Taylor test. I have always followed the Taylor and have always been fine as far as chlorine production. This year it was a little more of a difference but I’m still following Taylor test and...

Is there a dangerous pressure level?

Yes. Goes down to zero and back to 22-24 when running which is baseline. Just checked it all now too and it’s all clean and running fine.

Is there a dangerous pressure level?

But I didn’t backwash. All I did was shut off the pump, empty both skimmers and basket from all leaves etc then start up again and it was running back low again. Maybe I should backwash just to ensure that it’s all clear. Water level is on the low side (lower third of skimmer) but that...

Is there a dangerous pressure level?

Good to know I was below that! 35 had me a bit nervous.

Is there a dangerous pressure level?

These few weeks is high shedding from trees behind our fence (combo of those helicopter things and pollen chunky things). It constantly fills the skimmers but today it happened to fill the pump basket too. The kids are a bit older and like to empty the skimmer baskets but maybe they’re letting...

Any idea on how to tackle this leak?

seemed ok. It hasn’t leaked anymore but I see the water level down a little each morning. I skimped on lube when putting the lid gasket for the pump so maybe that? And the gasket is still original so 4 years old but seems ok. At least no more leaking

    A bit confused this year

I’ve always used that 400 rule but it’s a bit more this year so far. It’s on and pool is clean so I’m ok so far I think. I’ve been tempted to add one more bag to get me around 2800 by tester and also over 3300 on Aquarite panel 🤷‍♂️

    A bit confused this year

I’ve been open for a week now and water temp with heater got up to 75-80. I usually just use liquid chlorine first couple of weeks because outside temps are in 70s but we had 2 mid 80s so kids wanted to hit the water. With that I decided to start up SWCG. Since FC already 5-6 with liquid I...

Any idea on how to tackle this leak?

Just another update - each day now is low volume in filter basket but starts and fills right up within 10 sec. No leak anymore from underneath motor basket area. Don’t know why it looks perfectly fine now but will keep watching it and go neurotic over it!

Any idea on how to tackle this leak?

Ironically no leak during the day and pump area was dry. This morning on start up, water in pump is low and there’s a very small leak similar to day before. It could still be any of those seals but if the pump is getting opened they’re all being replaced in that kit.

Any idea on how to tackle this leak?

Is it true that there’s a SWG and non-SWG set of seals? Saw it on one website but I’m sure pumps aren’t made like that.

Any idea on how to tackle this leak?

Seems like it could be any of those seals as well. Guess I won’t know until it’s all taken apart. That guy makes it seem like the easiest project ever in the video too.

Any idea on how to tackle this leak?

Got the pool up and running for season and all looked good when running. Held pressure and initially saw a leak at the fittings for the SWG but that was tightened and all good. This morning before pump kicked on the reservoir was empty so I know there has to be a leak somewhere. Took about...
