I use a dress sock over the little bag to catch the finer sand and stuff and hold it in place with a fat rubberband on my hose and bag cleaner. Some folks use a car cleaning mitt. Many ideas on u tube. There are a couple suggestions on here about hand held vacs too.

I think its a U-Support end cap for rectangular frame & oval frame pools. About $1.68. Going to be hard to see that your getting the exact match but maybe google "intex u-support end capt etc"

Doesn't summer waves give a 90 day warranty? And that looks like a manufacturers defect.

Many of us in Arizona use swamp coolers which circulate water which attract wasps as soon as you turn them on every year. The best way I found to deter them are just hanging up a dryer sheet here and there. Doesn't seem to matter which smell but I have not had wasp or mud dauber issues in years...

I goggled it and found a couple utube that shows a turn off handle on top of filter and another one that shows some black caps to cover the openings while you change the filter.
