Replacing single speed pump with dual or variable speed

You've probably already moved forward, but I'm in CT with Eversource as my provider. I DEFINITELY recommend moving forward with the variable speed. I used to run my single-speed for 10-12 hours a day. I now run the VAS for 18 hours a day, with it ramped up to high speed for a couple of hours...

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

Connecticut, Ocean State Job Lot. Chain of stores. I buy mine at the store in Old Saybrook CT. Have been for the past 15 or so years. They sell by the gallon or by the case (four gallons per case), $3.99/gal, 12%. Sometimes $2.99/gal They typically have a couple of pallets of cases in stock.

    A Stenner Success Story

As you discovered, new were expensive, so I first looked used/local on craigslist. There were some available, but the sellers were asking $35-$40 firm. Looked on eBay, which I normally don't do. Found someone selling and they had a "make an offer" button, so I offered $20 with shipping...

    A Stenner Success Story

The blue storage jug is a 15 gallon jug, used. It was used to hold juice concentrate. Smelled pretty darn nice when I got it! I buy 12% chlorine by the 4-gallon case at a local discount store, NOT a pool store. Filled the 15 gallon blue jug with that.

    A Stenner Success Story

Stenner pump was purchased from Locke Well and Pump. $208. Pump ships with feed hose and all the kibbles and bits to get it connected. I left my hoses long and looped them on the wall because I'll be relocating things next spring. Without a doubt I think the better way to go with these pumps...

    A Stenner Success Story

First, thanks to this forum for cluing me on to peristaltic pumps. I travel a lot, so I absolutely love this setup. I bought a Stenner 45MPH 10 gallon per day, about $210. Bought an Intermatic programmable timer, about $20. Programmable. Bought a 15 gallon opaque blue tank for $20. Hardest...

Bubbles in Basket with new Intelliflo

Thanks to all who posted to this thread. I plumbed in an intelliflo a few days ago. I was shocked at the amount of air in the basket, and after fiddling with unions and 90s and O rings, etc, I was pretty ticked off. At high speeds the basket had about an inch of air in the top, it looked like a...

When you respond to a question

Thanks guys. Not trying to pick a fight, or even irritate anyone by picking a scab. I've always thought this a pretty good forum. It's obvious a lot of effort has gone in to the tutorials, etc, and I for one fully appreciate them. It was indeed "womanowned", and the main reason I asked was I...

When you respond to a question

An honest question: On another forum, someone recently said they came over here and posted about ozone. That after posting, they were "chastised", their posts deleted, and their account frozen or deleted (or whatever) so they couldn't post any more. I know what I think about ozone. And I...

Cedar on top of my durock

The CSST would have been for inside the house. And that's fine, because it looks like you're all set with the stub out and valve already in place. The only thing you have to figure out is if you want a quick disconnect (QD) or if you want a threaded connection. Quick disconnect is common for...

Cedar on top of my durock

For natural gas, probably the easiest would be to continue the run of black pipe that's in your house and stub it out through your exterior wall. Due to the makeup of NG, some states prohibit copper for NG piping. Sulfur levels versus copper, etc. There are some flex hose alternatives, like...
