We are in the process of finalizing quotes for our new pool build with inground spa. One builder says knobs are no longer necessary which creates a cleaner look on the spa beam in my opinion. Other says you have to have them. I tried searching for this in the forum, but not sure I am using...

Thank you Jim and all for the responses! Lots to learn in this new pool era. I am used to my Dad's pool from the early 2000s with single stage pump and traditional chlorination system. I am pleasantly surprised to learn that the new pumps are that efficient.

Jim, Curious - why do you run your pool 24/7/365? My understanding is the "normal" schedule is something 6- 10 hours per day depending on season....

PS, Thank you for your feedback! Pool volume is around 12 - 13,000 gallons. So IC40 sounds sufficient. I will look into your filter size and automation suggestions.
