    Returning to TFP

Last year was a rough year for us medically so the pool was not the main priority. About the first part of June in 2018, we started and it was green, green, green. My husband was taking over because I just couldn't. Our local pool store was his go to and we were never able to get it totally...

    Starting the SLAM

Ok - first reading: FC = 15.5 CC = 2.5 TC = 90 CH = 80 CYA = 25 Pool is dark to neon green. Can see the second step. Will post a picture later. Vacuuming two to three times a day. Scraping down the sides of the pool twice at least a day. Skimming often. I can do this!!!

    Difference in vacuuming

Thank you all! We were without a pump motor for a period during that late spring until about a week ago. We are trying to get all the gunk out of the pool before we start the SLAM. We got tons of leaves and gunk from the bottom of the pool and are now dealing with sludge although that is...

    Difference in vacuuming

What is the difference in vacuuming to waste and vacuuming to the filter? I have never vacuumed to waste so if there is a benefit in clearing up a green pool, can you tell me how to do it? Thank you.

    Pump Motor Fixed...Need Help

Oh my has it been something this year. Our pump motor died in March, then a relative took ill and moved in with us taking most of our time and extra dollars. With that said, our once lovely 22,000 gallon pool is now a brown smelly swamp. We have been getting the debris out as we have seen it...

    Motor in pump shot

Oh my goodness...Of course the motor on our pump would go out on the coldest day of the year so far and when they are forecasting snow 4 - 6 inches of snow. We have a 20,000 gallon in-ground pool that we keep open year round. We have a Jandy Stealth system with a Century Centurion...

    Closing pool in Va Beach

Good Monday morning to all! Our water temp is still in the upper 70's so too warm to officially close, but I want to be prepared to close it the proper TFP way rather than the Pool Store way I've done in the past. So...my question is how do I close it properly? From what I've read so far, it...

Jandy AquaPure 1400 Error Codes 172 and 186

We had the same error codes earlier in the summer. We replaced the flow sensor and salt cell and everything is working fine! :whoot: We have wonderfully clear water thanks to the help from everyone on this board! Good luck!

    Help...Kids Getting Swimmers Ear!

My kids used to get swimmers ear regardless of my pool chemistry. Their pediatrician said to use equal parts warm water and white vinegar. Put several drops in ear, let sit for five minutes then do the same on the other side. She said it equalizes the ph in the ear which is a variable in...

    Help with numbers

Maybe I'm not plugging my numbers into the correct box. I put my numbers in the first box on the left and then hit calculate. Should I do something differently? Thanks.

    Jandy 1400 Aquapure

 I had to buy both a sensor and a salt cell (separately) this year. I got a good deal from http://www.poolpartsonline.com. You could try them. Both were pretty easy to install.

    What is wrong now?

We just bought a new cell and installed it on Friday so I hope it isn't the cell. We will try the multi-meter and let you know. At and rate, we will need to go old school until we can figure it out. Can anyone help with pool numbers: Alk = 139 pH = 7.66 Calcium = 288 Total Chlorine = .69...

    What is wrong now?

I don't know how much more to replace (at this point could have bought a whole new system). We got the 175/182 codes earlier in May. Replaced the flow sensor. Then got the 123 code. Cleaned the salt cell. Still a code so we replaced the salt sensor. Was running with no code for one day...
