Pool opened on Monday (see pics in OP). Pic this morning (Friday). Haven’t drained any water. Spent time sweeping and brushing every night and kept the Dolphin working OT.

Added 6 gallons of 10% liquid chlorine. FC jumped to 34 and CC to 3. I believe the previous owner way over estimated the pool’s capacity. CYA still at 60. Should I just let the chlorine dissipate? Rain is expected for much of the weekend.

Tested the chemistry and was pleasantly surprised FC and CC - 0 ppm (no surprise) pH - 7.5 TA - 70 ppm CYA - 60 (YEA!!) CH - 450 ppm Will SLAM it with liquid chlorine (added the only 2 gallons I had. Suggested amt is 4.8 gallons.

I'll take the chemical measurements today after work. Fingers crossed for CYA <60.

We do live in an area with hard water. Does a TA this high cause problems? Should I aim for the high end of the range (90)?
