Skimmer Requirements on Vanishing Edge Pool

I'm in the process of having a vanishing edge pool built in Florida. I would prefer to not have a skimmer since the vanishing edge acts as a skimmer and all of the water will be pushing that way anyhow. However, an engineer says it is code on a residential pool to have a skimmer even when it's...

    Heating Pool - Quickest Way?

Thanks - I have a Heat Pump for heating right now, so it will be taking two or three days. In fact, it takes about 4.5 hours to heat my spa from 64 to 104. Does that sound right for heating a spa with a heat pump? If not, what would you expect?

    Heating Pool - Quickest Way?

My pool is currently 65 degrees (I live in Florida), and I want to get the temperature up to the 80s as quickly as possible. Currently, 75% of the water flow to my pool goes through my spa and spills over into my pool. Does anybody know if it would heat significantly faster if I turned off the...

Step Markers - Required in Florida?

My pool builder agrees that it is not in the ANSI book. However, he referenced the Florida Building Code (Section 424.1.2.5.3) regarding "Swimming Pools & Bathing Places (Public & Private)" which seems to be pretty specific. Is there anything to reference that would trump that requirement in...

Color for Trim in Tahoe Blue Pool

We have decided on Tahoe Blue Pebble Tec for our pool finish, and we don't know what color of trim (drains, jets, etc.) we should be getting. It is plumbed for white trim right now, but we aren't sure if that is right. We see some Tahoe Blue pools with black and some with white. The majority...
