    Hayward H250FDN IF Code

So I believe I finally have it fixed, although it cost me another ~$300 for a new ignition board. On the old ignition board, I was starting to see CE error code and then it went away after a power cycle. I could get the heater running with the old board with more or less power cycle trial and...

    Hayward H250FDN IF Code

If this works, then it was still cheaper to repair than replace. New heater was quoted at $2,799. New heater core was $1000 and new burner tubes $380 (cheaper from some stores if I was willing to wait on burner tube delivery)

    Hayward H250FDN IF Code

OK, next morning went out and still got the IF. I waited till the afternoon and heater started just fine. I had ordered new burner tubes and another flame sensor from Amazon. What I was suspecting is since the burner tubes has some rust (see picture below) due to the previous heater core leak...

    Hayward H250FDN IF Code

Yeah, well trying to save money. Also an elec. eng.... Anyway, that didn't seem to solve the IF problem, I went out this morning for a test and still had the heater cycling destined for an IF code. I turned off the heater left for a few hours. I was continuing to look up flame sensing issues...

    Hayward H250FDN IF Code

My heater worked flawlessly from 2009 to about 2021. I was battling first an IO code and then intermittent IF code and replaced both ignitor, fixed IO, and flame sensor with no change intermittent IF results. I suspected a heat exchanger leak due to some small about of water (not much) from...

Hayward H250FDN Natural Gas Heater PF and IO Error codes

I am posting this in case someone may find it useful. Came home from work recently and noticed PF error code. I decided to replace the igniter since I was going to look at the PF code (I had purchased one previously to replace the old one). When I was moving the igniter wires, I noticed that...

    Chlorine too low

Thanks you for the gallon conversion. Just added the bleach and certainly registered on the sticks. I will check in a couple hours to see where I'm at Should I have my chlorine generator off while the levels are high?
