Coming down from a mustard algae SLAM

Yes, all three (y). The water is way clearer than it has ever been, which tells me I should have done this long ago. Thank you. I am getting more reagent delivered today!

Coming down from a mustard algae SLAM

Hello all, I have completed a SLAM to treat an apparently recurring mustard algae issue. My pool is crystal clear now and my OCLTs have been good. Just this morning I increased the FC to the mustard algae shock level (my CYA is 70); overall, I have ended up using a ton of liquid chlorine (over...

    Puzzling pool deposits

Thank you for your response. I started the SLAM process about 4 hours ago. As soon as I dropped all the liquid chlorine needed to raise the FC to SLAM levels, the water turned all kinds of cloudy. So, I guess I am dealing with mustard algae indeed. We will see how it goes; first time doing this...

    Puzzling pool deposits

Hello all, I have been battling for the past couple of weeks these green-yellow looking deposits in my pool (see attached picture). We have had quite a bit of rain lately and I initially thought that these were probably due to dust/pollen accumulated on the pool screen enclosure and carried...

    SWG turns off prematurely?

Thank you for this. As I suspected, I was unaware of this very relevant information. Cheers, Marcos

    SWG turns off prematurely?

Thank you for your response, If this behavior is reasonable, then I am a little confused as to why the SWG is apparently shutting off two hours after the system turns on for the day presumably after having reached its % setting according to the message on the screen. Cheers, Marcos

    SWG turns off prematurely?

Just in case it is relevant, here are the latest chemistry readings as of this morning: FC - 4 ppm CC - 0.2 ppm TA - 80 ppm CH - 320 ppm pH - 7.6 CYA - 70 ppm The readings from the salt cell are 25.8V, 6.5A, and 2800 ppm of salt

    SWG turns off prematurely?

Hello all, My pool is about 6 months old and I am still trying to figure out all its "idiosyncracies." Lately, I have been testing FC twice a day because I can't seem to keep it stable. I have cranked the SWG up to 90% and the FC has been increasing by barely 0.5 ppm per day, which makes little...

    Plaster "fat"?

Thank you for your comments. Yes, I am using PoolMath; my current CSI is -0.17. I guess I need to let go of my anal retentive nature then :giggle:. These things are noticeable enough (at least to me) to be annoying ... Cheers, Marcos

    Plaster "fat"?

Greetings all, I am a new pool owner and this is my first time posting in this forum. TFP has been a tremendously useful resource and I thank you all for your efforts in making this site what it is. My pool is about 6 months old, 13,500 gallons, plaster finish, with a Hayward TurboCell...
