Circuit Breaker Keeps Tripping - 1.0 HP Hayward motor

This was the cause, I noticed water running along the bottom of my motor towards the removable cover area, I'm assuming water was getting in. I changed the seal and all is well in the world. Thank you!

Pool Pumps AG vs IG, semi inground pool

I have a hayward 1 hp pump (powerflo LX). I'm assuming it is self priming but I don't fully understand what that means. If any air gets in the basket on the pump, usually it makes its way out, I think that means its self priming. Anyhow, the whole above water level, below water level thing...

Circuit Breaker Keeps Tripping - 1.0 HP Hayward motor

My 1.0HP century/A.O. Smith pool motor has recently started randomly tripping the circuit. I have a 20amp circuit, but I also tried it on a separate 15amp circuit with a GFCI, regardless of which one it randomly trips the circuit, happened once yesterday, then ran fine all night. Today when my...

    Plumbing solar with heat pump

80K BTU comfortemp heat pump Installer only charged $75 to do PVC as opposed to using flex hoses, that would prob have been the cost of material alone at home depot so I obliged. Instead of a check valve he just put multiple shut offs and a bypass, which is fine because now I realize unlike...

Determine Pump Size based on existing GPM

I considered that, however I am just worried about the flow rate being too much. The heat pump needs to have less than 75gpm flow. I just don't want to go too strong lol

    Plumbing solar with heat pump

I am adding a heat pump to my setup today. I have a 3 way going to my solar and a check valve on the return. I rarely bypass it anymore since I no longer have a pool vacuum (upgraded to an electric robot) but its nice to have the option to isolate them/bypass them. I'm thinking of cutting...

Determine Pump Size based on existing GPM

I need a larger pump, without calculating based on my plumbing, can I determine how strong of a pump I need based on my existing pump size/speed and existing GPM? I have 3 -2x20 solar panels, and my plumbing goes underground for about 15 feet to my pump. I did the bucket test and I am only...

Heat Pump BTUs - 8,500gallon pool

Alright good points, you convinced me, I do keep the pool covered, 90K btu only requires a 50amp which isn't that much more so I'm going to go that route. Id rather oversize and not be mad at myself later, once the line is run I have to live with it. I hate it over the summer having 2-3...

Heat Pump BTUs - 8,500gallon pool

    So Island Recreational said it wasn't worth it to oversize the heat pump too much, their recommendations were: 32,000 BTU - 5,000 gallons 53,000 BTU - 13,000 gallons - 25amp 65,000 BTU - 15,000 gallons - 32amp 80,000 BTU - 20,000 gallons - 40amp I have 8,500 gallons, so I went with the...

Heat Pump BTUs - 8,500gallon pool

So In may temps range between like mid 60s to low 80s. In September its more like upper 60s to 80s, I'd say the days in both months in the 60s are minimal. Maybe ill do the 65K BTU just to have it heat a little faster, I'd like to avoid spending too much more than that though. Thank you for...

Heat Pump BTUs - 8,500gallon pool

I have 3- 2x20 solar panels and a solar cover, but august on Long Island has been breezy with low humidity, my pool makes it to 84 by the end of the day, but by then its just not warm enough to offset the cooler low humidity air we have been having, so I want to add a heatpump so I can...
