    Pool company discouraging SWG switch

I have the Pentair IntelliChem and as Jimrahbe notes, they are not necessarily for everyone. Your mileage may vary. With both a spill-over spa and two wall sconces my pH tends to drift up perhaps a bit quicker that it might otherwise, and I have absolutely no regrets in my purchase. It took a...

    Pool company discouraging SWG switch

Count me in with all the others who would rather fill their pool in than give up their SWG. I also have the acid injection and I’d have a very hard time giving that up as well.

Why is the SAMPLE SIZER measuring tool only good for the Taylor tube?

An empty 6 oz. R-0013 reagent bottle from your TF-100 test kit works as well. Just make sure you mark it accordingly so as to not confuse it with your good R-0013 bottle and pour the wrong one out by accident thinking it contained pool water. Voice of experience here.

A little CYA testing method experiment

I doubt I am alone in saying that the CYA testing is the most difficult out of all the tests in order for me to interpret correctly. In trying to cut out the variable of doing the test outside with not always consistent sunlight I tried a small experiment and would be interested in hearing the...

    Clorox salt?

Although very similar in shape, my stain wasn't nearly as dark as that one. That is downright scary. On the plus side the vitamin C in the sock did a miraculous job of cleaning it up, but I guess this means my water now has iron in it.

    Clorox salt?

I used some last week in anticipation of installing my IC40 over the weekend. I was curious to see how well my in-floor jets would distribute the salt as an experiment so I basically dumped 2 bags in the same general location and went inside for about 1/2 hour. From doing a little bit of...

    Filling IntellipH canister safely question

Thank you both for your thoughts, this wasn't the first time I have probably overthought things a bit but I'd rather be safe than not. The 'low fume' acid is what I alluded to in my initial post as being not very cost friendly, and would like to avoid if possible. As my concerns about adding...

    Filling IntellipH canister safely question

My apologies if this is in the wrong place, mods feel free to move it if not appropriate here. In wanting to do some updating on my equipment this season I have decided to install a Pentair IC40 SWG and an IntellipH acid dispenser. Although there are numerous equipment manufacturers to chose...

    What's your current pool temp?

Pool is currently 71* here in SW Florida, not going for a swim any time soon I think.

Easy, cheap way to fill your TF-100's graduated cylinders

If you have an empty 8oz R-0013 CYA Reagent bottle handy that works very well also.

Photo of cool water entering warmer hot tub

First off I'd like to echo the sentiments of many people here with a huge thank you to the very knowledgable contributors on this site! Without you all, I would be at a complete loss as to how to maintain my pool, and I'm sure the photo below would not have been possible. Perhaps this is 'ho...

    Pool functions turning on randomly.

That is good news tdhamby! After the wealth of information and schooling I have received from this forum I am very happy that I have been able to contribute in some small way. Here's to hoping that a new spa side remote ends all the problems you have had. So far the gremlins have stayed away...

    Pool functions turning on randomly.

I was able to find one on eBay for a little less, but not much. I would agree that they are expensive for what they are, but makes for an easy fix if that is indeed the problem. Well worth disconnecting it from the control panel for a while to see if that is your problem before spending the...
