Thanks all for the suggestions. Once I complete the SLAM, I am going to keep the SWG setting a little higher.

    Green Algae Dust wont quit

Started SLAM two days ago. CYA 60, so I am keeping chlorine at 24ppm. I have been brushing twice a day and the green dust seems to be mostly gone. I'm running the pump 24/7. Seems to be improving a little each day

    Green Algae Dust wont quit

Yes - It's definitely a green cloud when I brush it off the pool floor. The chlorine has held steady at 6ppm since I dialed in the swg. So, I assume that the chlorine is well distributed. I also run the pump on high for about 3 hrs a day to skim the pool of leaves. Thanks for your response.

    Green Algae Dust wont quit

My pool needs to be brushed every three days to get rid of a light coating of algae dust on the pool floor and walls. My latest chem readings are Temp 85, fc 6, ph 7.5,TA 80, cya 60, Salt 3500. The new swg is set to maintain my FC at 6, and I am running the filter on low speed for 12 hrs a day...

    Pool Pump Replumb

Thanks for all responses. No, I don't use the tab feeder except for when on vacation. I manually dose with chlorine regularly. I was going to add a larger valve on the line to the filter to make draining the pool easier. Sometimes we get a lot of rain, and I have to run the pump for several...

    Pool Pump Replumb

I'm thinking of rerouting the connection between my pool pump and filter as shown. Does anyone see a problem with this? I plan on adding the drain spigot into the new line also.

    Pump Vibration Noise? Try this

I had a problem with the running pool pump on the concrete pad transmitting vibration (loud hum) into our bedroom through the walls. It was very annoying. I went to the store and bought two silicon trivet pads, made for placing hot cooking pans onto the counter in the kitchen. The pads are about...

Pump running dry after hard freeze

Whenever I clean the pump basket, the basket empties. I just replace the clear lid, and turn the pump on. It refills after about 25-35 seconds, and restores prime on it's own. By the way, I was able to re-lube the gasket and re-installed the lid today. Temps are back in the mid 40's, and the...

Pump running dry after hard freeze

Same thing is happening to me. We had 2 days of below freezing temps here in Huntsville. My pump filter basket is partially full of air, and seems to be having a hard time staying full of water. I have been running the pump every 4 hrs for ten minutes each time to prevent freezing of lines, and...

Should I winterize my Inground Pool?- I live in Nashville, Tennessee

We are located in North Alabama and we do not close our pool in the winter. We have an Intermatic P1353ME timer with a freeze control sensor. It turns the pump on low when the air temp gets below 32 deg. Works well.

    TFT-100 (salt)

I use the K-1766 test. Works well.

    shocking!

We built our pool in October 2013. As soon as the pool was filled, I used chlorine pucks to maintain my chlorine and raise the CYA to about 40. Then I stopped using the pucks and switched to bleach. I started using the TF test kit from the beginning to keep track of chemicals. I use bleach to...
