This year we will not be opening the pool as I will be going to Afghanistan, we live in South West Oklahoma (Cache). What should done to combat the mosquitos and algae build up that will occur during the hot dry summer. What can be done? Or needs to be done? thanks leisurlee

Are there any advantages to adding salt to a non salt pool other than feel, I also have been told it will keep the bugs and wasps and such out as well as they will not drink it. If this is true I can add to a regular chlorine pool?

GPGYO, I'll try this and post a my results. I do have 2 dogs but can keep them from drinking from the pool. After I have done the math I need 90 lbs of Borax and 6 gallons of acid. SO only time will tell if this reples/reduces the invasion. thanks
