Question about TA, I saw something on the internet about getting "true total alkalinity", by subtracting 1/3 of your CYA measurement from your TA reading. Which should I be using, my test kit measurement or the math? o_O

Question regarding Trichlor, I've read some articles that saying not to use in vinyl pools. I prefer liquid bleach, but there are days when I can't tend the pool, and Trichlor tabs fill the need, should I be concerned?

I believe it depends on manufacturer instructions. I recently switched from sand to glass, Brightline, recommends 20% less glass media than sand, I used 160 pounds in a 200 pound filter. I've seen other brands going 1 for 1. I am totally happy with the switch.

I know cal hypo's pH is relatively high, will it decrease with age? BTW, my pool log's open for whoever want's to check it out.

I have a question regarding chemical storage degradation. In regards to chlorine, does granular/powdered have a longer shelf life than liquid? I have two boxes of cal hypo 73%, 1 pound, shock packets, about a year old. Does degradation effect pH, or does that stay consistent?

I have propane and wood smokers. My propanes in addition to their smoke boxes, I've attached Smoke Daddy smoke generators. Baby backs, I'll dry rub the night before, and smoke 2 hours @250 degrees, wrap in foil, cook an additional 1.5 hour, remove from foil, and depending on my mood, if I want...
