What size plumbing do you have? 1 1/2" pipe?? Some filters are less efficient with too high of flow (most notably sand and DE). You can also get cavitation which makes it difficult to vaccum and can damage the pump. Do you have any trouble vacuuming? That's usually where cavitation is first...

Are you sure that's right? The size pool and pump don't match too well. IMO, the pump is too large. I'd ask they sub a smaller more energy efficient 2 speed pump. You have a link?

What size fittings did you have to use on the pump? I just got one too yesterday. I can't find the thread sizes listed anywhere and the pump is a different size than the union for the waterway I am trying to replace.

Shiny white box of junk. Never buy an Aquatrol. Still not working and service/support STINKS!!!!!! Can't get a new cell sent my way directly and no tech yet.

we finally got a tech to come out!!!!! However, now the cell is bad. It is going to take a week to order and heck knows how many more weeks to get a tech back out. So, a good (CRAPPY!!!) unit. A bad board & a bad cell. At least it had a shiny white case, lol.

Another week & still not working...tech service keeps asking me what is hte problem. Hayward keeps giving me a differnt diagnosis on the tech line. Hayward just wants me to try a different tech service and wait 3 more weeks to get scheduled again. NEVER buy an Auqatrol!

Re: brand new Aquatrol, bad PC board (they think) Now they Hayward says the cell is bad.....I have to schedule another service call and wait until someone can get out here (another 3-4 weeks?). NEVER buy an Aqua Trol. The service is AWFUL!!!!!!!!!
