Fighting a green pool for 2 years now

Just wanted to update ya'll. I'm glad to say that before we closed the pool we got the water clear. It took about 6 weeks, several filter cleanings, daily vacuuming/brushing, checking the chlorine level at least 3 times a day, and about 40 gallons of liquid chlorine. Looking forward to opening...

I had mine screwed down to the deck also, but also used the bladders full of sand. Do you know what model or manufacturer of stairs you have?

My wife was using water bladders with sand in them. When I pulled those out I noticed they had taken on water. I plan on using a 3" PVC pipe filled with cement or sand and capped at both ends, glued obviously.

The filter had been cleaned 4 times in two weeks. The psi has not fluctuated. Should I clean the filter more often?

I took the steps and weights out about 2 weeks ago. The steps had a lot of water in them and it was nasty. It made sense why it was so hard to get it back to normal before. I need to buy some steps that dont take on water. Any suggestions?

I am testing and replacing at least 3 times a day, most days are 4 times. The FC has dropped no more than 4ppm between testing.

Pool math is saying not to add any muriatic acid. Can I use Sodium Bisulfate instead? I have some of that still.
