    Thanks for your reply. Good to know about the vacuum anomaly. That's what I suspected since that is what has happened even before my big problems arose. That's a good point about the valves also. . Found the blue 1 part glue at a local Pool Supply. Thanks for all.

    Just recently I noticed more and more air bubbles developing in the filter basket connected to the pump housing. It finally got to the point where the pump would not prime at all. First thing I tried was to inspect the pump impeller for any debris. Not much there, cleaned it and put it back...
