    Still finding my way...

The water is clear today, so I am going to let the FC just drop on its own. I have to vacuum some "dust" from the floor, but otherwise it looks great! Thanks again to all who offered advice and encouragement. It was a long ride, but we are finally there! Now to keep it there! It is raining...

FC - 24.5 CC - .5 pH - 7.8 TA - 175 CH - 300 CYA - 75 the water is almost clear today. I added cellulose fiber to help the sand filter last night so hopefully it will continue to clear over the next couple of days. How long does it take for the FC to drift back down to safe levels...

OK - Thanks, Yippee! You have not led me wrong so far... :) I see that there is a Fiber Clear cellulose fiber that I can use to enhance the sand filter. Would that work in place of DE? I don't have any pool friends...

Chlorine now reading 33. Pool less cloudy and now I can actually see stuff settling on the pool floor that I can vacuum away. I'm having folks over on Sunday, so I have a week to get it clear. If the SLAMing does not clear it up by mid-week, should I do the unmentionable and add a clarifier?

FC - 19.5 CC - .5 pH - 7.2 TA - 175 CH - 250 CYA - 75 I ran out of both R-0871 and Liquid Chlorine!! Just stocked up again, so now I can test. I am adding two gallons of shock now, and Ill test again in an hour to see whether the levels are holding. I think the CYA test readings were...

FC still at 15ppm this morning. Water still cloudy, but it does get a tiny little bit clearer each day. The pump has now been running non-stop for two weeks!!

    Still finding my way...

OK - Listening to Yippee!! The water is still cloudy, but a little clearer today. Seems to be the pattern now... Got some liquid chlorine and dumped 2 gallons in earlier this evening (since I haven't done any shocking for about 3-4 days now and the gallon said it would treat 12,000 gals of...

    Still finding my way...

The water is still cloudy, but a little less so. These are tonight's readings: FC - 7.5 CC - .5 pH - 7.4 TA - 175 CH - 250 CYA - 95 Based on your comments yesterday, I would say that the FC is depleting too quickly. I am at work all day so I will just try and keep the FC level up until the...

Greetings, and thanks for your help!! Here are readings for a couple of hours ago using a Taylor K-2006 kit. FC - 12.5 CC - 1 pH - 7.6 TA - 175 CH - 250 CYA - 80 I have been using powdered shock, not liquid chlorine. I added 16ozs of Leslie's Ultra Brite clarifier yesterday. The color...

    Still finding my way...

Greetings! We inherited our above ground pool about 4 years ago when we bought our house, and I am still learning!! It is about 20,000 gallons, we have a sand filter, and just purchased a new 1.5HP pump this summer, and what a difference that made!! Wish we had done that at the beginning! I...
