    Pump output pipe leaking

Hmm... Well I'm sure I had previously touched the carbon and the ceramic at some point (before I even posted my previous message). It didn't seem like the store was too careful not to touch them either. I did wipe them down with alcohol right before installing, but it's possible I touched...

    Pump output pipe leaking

Great, it is a double breaker in the house so I assume it is 240. The pump says 240 and no one at the store said anything about it not being compatible. One more thing, on the seal, the rubber side of the ceramic piece faces the motor, the ceramic side makes contact with the hard (carbon?)...

    Pump output pipe leaking

Okay, I have run into a possible issue. The installation guide wants me to attach L1 to a certain terminal, and L2 to a certain terminal. I don't know from L1 & L2. I know the green is the ground, but I have black and red. Is there a way to differentiate them?

    Pump output pipe leaking

Great. I found a place that has the C105-138PEB locally; I will pick that up along with the shaft seal and get this motor installed tonight (barring heavy rain). I cannot wait to get this pool cleared up. Thanks everybody for the help.

    Pump output pipe leaking

Thanks, Mark, I appreciate the help. I am trying to determine what the impeller I need is. The existing impeller is a C105-137PEB--which looks like it was sized correctly for the old motor (1 HP full rated / 1.5 HP up rated). Would I get a C105-138PEB since that appears to be sized for the...

    Pump output pipe leaking

Here is some information about the spa. Let me know if I can provide other information that might be helpful. The spa has 4 jets that are driven by a separate pump (also currently not functioning). It has two returns that are fed by the pool pump (the one I am trying to replace) for...

    Pool Leak?

I am not an expert, but is it possible to plug the skimmer and close the valve to the skimmer, circulating using the main drain alone to confirm your theory that the issue is in the skimmer line?

    Pump output pipe leaking

Thanks for the response. Any idea what the minimum HP I really need is for a single speed motor?

    Pump output pipe leaking

I have done some investigating around the equipment and updated my signature. I thought it also might be helpful to add a picture to show an idea of the bubbler size. I don't think they need a lot of volume to get the intended effect, and too much volume will just end up splashing on the...

    Pump output pipe leaking

I am not sure if I should add to my existing thread or start a new one. Last September, I ended up having a tech from Leslie's come out to replace the motor. He ended up being able to fix it. However, the fix only lasted about six months or so. When I had them come back out to look at...

Issues with gas heater, in-line chlorinator

Just wanted to say a very belated thanks Paul and Boland01 for the very helpful responses. Paul, that manual is exactly what I was looking for. I think when I had the problem some years ago I used the steps in there to narrow it down to the gas control valve, but that was years ago and I...

Issues with gas heater, in-line chlorinator

All gas valves are open as far as I can tell, and the gas control valve inside the unit is turned on. The heater seems to be switched by the same time clock as the pool pump, which is on of course. I have a volt meter but am not sure where to start with it. I've used it a few times such as when...

Issues with gas heater, in-line chlorinator

That is great. Sounds like a plan. Thank you. It doesn't seem to be doing much. I opened up the access panel yesterday and waited a couple of minutes after I turned it on either setting (pool & spa) with both dials set to max and of course the pump turned on. In addition to it not firing...
