    Calcium increased question

I finally got most of my numbers in range! But now I need to address the calcium hardness.... Or softness as it may be. Its at 150 right now. I have the calcium increaser and know how much to add....but I'd like to know if adding this will affect my ph or ta numbers? Thanks!

Fine trip to the pool store and a few follow up questions

So after receiving my CYA 50ppm solution and using it to figure out exactly what the "dot" should look like and then re-testing my own pool a couple of times, I'm now confident that I have managed to lower my CYA to about 60 by doing the water changes. After reading a lot here, Im going to...

Fine trip to the pool store and a few follow up questions

Hmmm...I'm using 12.5% liquid chlorine and I'm only dropping maybe 1.5 or 2 ppm per 24 hours from morning to the next morning. But it has been cool with some morning clouds here lately. It's supposed to be super hot while we are away though. yesterday morning i was at 7.5ppm and I didn't add...

    New Pebble Fina Concern

We had ours redone a few years ago and we went with the pebble instead of the pebble tina because I was concerned about the blotchiness I had seen in other pebble fina pools. The sales guy did tell us that you notice the streaking and stains more in the pebble fina. I also think the...

Fine trip to the pool store and a few follow up questions

Yeah...I was thinking that if I put in the Cal-hypo I wouldn't have to worry about the level getting too low if she forgot or didn't put enough in. But, she also might want to swim while we are gone since it's going to be so hot. I just don't want to come home to a green pool :) Thanks for...

Fine trip to the pool store and a few follow up questions

I went to price liquid chlorine vs. Bleach. And get my H20 tested to compare to my test kit. when I asked for the price of chlorine he said "it's nice to see people doing it with liquid instead of the tablets". I was SO surprised. For the pools they service they use liquid chlorine and go...

New to TFP - A few questions please? :)

Uggh....Now I'm so confused. I replaced a about a foot of water today ( I know I will have to do this several times to get my CYA down) but I'm having a hard time reading the test. I always thought i was doing it right....but I was in direct sunlight. But if I turn my back to the sun, have...

New to TFP - A few questions please? :)

Good morning! So I have started to drain the pool....I figure I will probably have to do this a few times. However I have a question: In theory it seems I could pump and fill at the same time. I have a submersible pump and have put it at one end and the auto fill is at the other end on the...

New to TFP - A few questions please? :)

Thanks so much! After discussing with my husband I think we are going to suck it up and do a partial water drain/refill and try to get the level down to around 60 or and then slowly reduce it the rest of the way through our splash out.

New to TFP - A few questions please? :)

Hi all- I'm so excited to have found this forum. I've had my house for about 3 years. The first two years we used a pool service. Now that I'm a SAHM I'm doing it myself. It's been a learning experience! I'm currently using Tri-Chlor (that's what my pool service used...but they also added...
