I made a support for the new style relay.

Double sided tape might be a good choice. I think 3M is supposed to make very strong tape.

You made excellent observations. The black mark is at the broken relay. I really should use the relay from Digikey. It has the higher specs. I might attempt to design an adapter on a 3D printer.

There is a plug that works on 24v.
