Just started draining my pool today for a refill due to high CYA and high CH. During the process, I noticed some failing grout around the skimmer box throat….see picture. What is the best material to repair this area? Thanks.

I need to do a complete drain due to high CYA and calcium hardness. I have a Zoller 1/3 hp submersible pump (40gpm) and a 5/8” garden hose. Hose run is a lengthy 135’. Lift is about 5 1/2 feet. Pool is 10K gallons, but I’m just looking for a flow rate….I can do the math. Has anyone done this...

My filter was mfg in 2016. According to the footnotes, I’m using the correct part 86006900. However, it’s not the Pentair version…it’s supposedly compatible. It doesn’t fill the o ring groove in the bulkhead fitting like the original. It’s clearly not the same size.

Thanks! I finally carefully grabbed the bulkhead fitting from the outside. There is only about 1/2” wide area to grab, but I was able to get it with a filter wrench. New problem….the new o rings for the bulkhead fittings don’t seem like the correct ones. I believe the o ring is Pentair PN...

How exactly does one remove the baffle assembly from the lower filter housing? It looks like you need a special tool to insert into the fitting from the outside??

Yes, view fence lot. Brass valve much less work, trust me.

I thought about that, but my HOA would never allow it.

Can anyone recommend a brass manual air relief valve for a Pentair CCP cartridge filter? My filter sits in the AZ sun and the plastic ones just don't last. John
