I have a Hayward Multiport and Sand Filter Valve air leak

I did not take the valve apart when it was new (a year or two ago) but when I looked at it earlier this season I lubed it when I put it back together. The seal looked ok, no rough spots, etc. I think this valve is a 710 series Hayward Multiport. It's really odd, there should be no reason for air...

I have a Hayward Multiport and Sand Filter Valve air leak

I replaced this Multiport valve ( the old one lasted probly 10 years. Anyway, over the last several months there seems to be an air leak on the sand filter outlet side. When the valve is set to filter there is an audible "buzz" is the only way I can describe it. After several pump cycles air...

    Is liquid chlorine cheaper?

Here in Lubbock, 13 % bleach goes for $4.50 a gallon at Home Depot or Walmart. Where did the $2.59 days go? Next question, it seems liquid bleach raises the Ph which seems to lower the FC level. CYA has to be monitored periodically, it seems to decrease slowly over time as well (we add water...

Coming chlorine shortage? - It is Here!

With bleach getting hard to find and very expensive, what are the alternatives? Household bleach ? Other somethings?

Will using bleach for clorination raise the ph of my pool?

I have been using bleach exclusively for a couple of years and pretty much got everything working right this year. The only thing I have to do besides keep the bleach adjusted (I have made an automatic bleach dispenser) is keep track of the CYA and the Ph. It seems that I have to add muriatic...

    Pump Suction Pressure

I am building an automated bleach dispenser. I need to know what is a range of suction pressure (vacuum - PSI or whatever) for a 3/4 pump would be? Would a -30 - 0 in HG vacuum gage on the suction side of the pump give me a good number?

    bleach availability problem

I'm having problem getting concentrated bleach for my pool here in the Lubbock, Texas area. WalMart has had 10% bleach for a good while but all of a sudden is out of stock. Home Depot and others have 8% bleach. Are there other sources?

How high FC is safe for swimmers? Water still a little cloudy.

13,000 G, plaster pooi, liquid bleach (first year), CYA-50, PH 7.7, TA 180, CH 220, FC 10.2, CC 0.2. I started out slamming at FC-10 earlier in the year, maybe didn't get slammed cause going back and reading SLAM recommendation of FC - 20 if CYA is 50. Back then I must have been getting a...

cyuranic acid level dropped over winter

Well, no I didn't circulate the water at all. The water level is low (drops over winter) and I haven't even taken the cover off. Probly I"m measuring the water at the top. I"ll fill and circulate and go from there.

cyuranic acid level dropped over winter

I have had high CYA levels and have gone to liquid bleach. In the mean time I was going to get the CYA levels corrected when I started up the pool this year. I have the suggested Taylor test kit (FAS-DPD chlorine with R-0013 CYA reagent)and thought I would check the CYA levels to see where I...
