    Pool Heater Low Flow

I looked through the install/owner's manuals that came with the unit and I did not find any information about the pressure sensor switch. I did find this online on another pool equipment website: I adjusted the knob as you said and as indicated above, now the heater kicks on with my pump set...

    Pool Heater Low Flow

ChrisLPC, thanks for the info and photo! I'll adjust the pressure switch and figure it out.

    Pool Heater Low Flow

Thanks ajw22, I'll see how much difference running the pump at 70% makes on my electric bill heading into fall. I will definitely go with a bigger pump when this one fails, which may not be for many years. It's not a big issue, I'm just always wanting to learn as much as I can about the...

    Pool Heater Low Flow

Hello, I have a Hayward W3HP21404T HeatPro 140K BTU, it has a minimum flow rate 30 gpm. My Hayward 2.25 HP varialble speed Super Pump XE at 100% is rated at 80 gpm. I run it 24/7 at 45% speed which maths out to 36 gpm. When I turn on the heater it flashes "Flo" meaning low flow rate, the...

    Hayward heat pump

I just hooked up my Hayward 140KBTU heater a couple weekends ago. It works great, you can feel warm water coming out of the returns. For us, a heat pump will allow us to start a month earlier next season and keep it going a month later. We were not expecting to swim when the snow is flying, a...

Installing sun sail post in concrete

Albuquerque, NM has a frost depth of 20", most contractors will go a little deeper than that just to be safe. Your sail shade column footing should be isolated from your concrete patio or deck or whatever the surrounding surface is. The footing should be at least 2" larger on all sides of the...

    Springtails!

I guess we've always refered to them as blackbirds in the midwest. I never heard of grackles until I saw it on here previously when I was searching for a solution. I tried a blow up aligator, reflective tape streamers, and a couple dead blackbird decoys that I moved around the pool deck...

    Springtails!

It was blackbird poop sacks for us this year! Our neighbor's trees were infested with an enourmous flock of blackbirds and they used our pool, deck, and patio as their dumping grounds. We were cleaning up three times a day for several weeks. Fortunately the young birds are flying now and...

Do the testing agents have a shelf life?

:ROFLMAO: I almost refered to myself as a "bonehead" in my previous response. Sounds like I'd fit right in those meetings.

Do the testing agents have a shelf life?

Ding, ding, ding, ding, we have a winner! Thanks for the observation JamesW, I indeed tested with 25ml not 10ml. Sometimes the obvious isn't so obvious.....

Do the testing agents have a shelf life?

Thanks for all the replies! I will order new reagents and see what the results are.

Do the testing agents have a shelf life?

Tested my salt level with Taylor R-0630 and R-0718 and the reading is 9,200 ppm. A couple weeks ago it was 3,200 ppm. No salt was added and my SWG is currently reading at 3,400 ppm. Do the testing chemicals have a shelf life? I'm not sure why there's such a spike in the salt level reading...

    Adjustable Flow Return Outlet

I have those plugs for winterizing, but was wanting something that didn't require me to remove; the return eyeball retaining ring, the eyeball, and the eyeball fitting that is threaded into the wall return pipe, then screw in the winterizing plug. All I have to do now is screw in or out the...

    Adjustable Flow Return Outlet

So after some brainstorming, this is what I came up with. I searched for some nylon/plastic/pvc nuts/bolts and found, of all things, 1/2" toilet seat hinge hardware would work. I used marine epoxy (uv & chemical resistant) to set the nuts in the return eyeball, installed 3 of 4 in the pool...
