I understand the push pull valve instructions the part that I do not understand is- 1.Do you release the air from the top air release valve before changing the valve position? and 2. Do you add DE back into the filter after backwashing?

Yes, I have solar and yes the pump does expel air when it starts up. I am just wondering why I would hear the air (bubbling sound)when the pump is off and not filtering. Could the air leak be inside the filter somewhere?

It is not an air sound just a sound from with in the filter...
