Hopefully that picture attaches.
Thanks CJadamec, I've just opened the most recent leaking pump up, and yes there is considerable wearing. Perhaps you are right and there is fine debris getting between the carbon and ceramic faces? The filter is just using plain filter sand.
The water itself...
Hi all,
Long time reader, sporadic poster. I run a pool shop in New Zealand and am having a problem that I have never come across before... Maybe someone might have some advice and can point me in the right direction?
Part of our work is that we do pump warranty work for a NZ based pump...
Austral Distributors in Auckland carry most of the Taylor reagents, so I'm pretty sure they will have the complete test kits. They are a wholesaler, so won't deal direct, but should be able to point out which of your local pool shops can order it in for you.
I have no idea how it would compare...
Thanks, I thought I was on the right track.
They were using a Floatron (ionizer) *and* a copper based algaecide. Neither will be used in future and we will replace some water.
Evening all,
Currently helping someone who's kids have been getting green hair from too much copper in the pool. My understanding that the main choices were either changing some water out to dilute the copper levels, or to use a chelating agent to keep the copper in suspension.
However it's...
Seriously, that liner looks AMAZING!
Where I work, down here in NZ, we basically give the option of a dark blue or light blue liner. Never would I have thought to use a tan/sandstone liner, but it has truly impressed me :D
Re: Heart of Texas pool build started
May I ask, what will the faucets be used for? The only thing I can think of would be for hosing down the pool area, but that would lower the water level?
Cheers,
Jim
Obviously if a pool is balanced and looked after, it's uncessary to add copper based algaecides or use Tri-Chlor tablets that include Copper Sulpahte.
However my question is, at what concentration does high copper become a problem? I've seen some figures suggesting that copper should always be...
:-D That works out the same as the Australian standard which recommends between 1.8LPM and 4.8LPM per m2.
This is one guys home made panels. I don't know enough math to tell if his calculations are correct, but I found it an interesting read.
My gut feeling is that unless you have access to...
I thought 48 or 56 frame refered to the physical dimensions of the motor, ie, shaft height, diameter and mounting hole pattern. Thereby a 48 frame 1HP motor from manufacturer A should interchangeable with the same from manufacturer B. How does that effect the power of the pump?
Cheap! The Viron sells in NZ about $1600 + GST ($1347 USD), the Intelliflo VS has a retail price of between $3500 - $4,000 NZD depending on the supplier.
You should start to see similar pumps to the Viron over the next year, Speck have a pump which is the same motor with a different wet end.
Following up on what mcoccia said earlier, here is a link to a thread on whirlpool where one of the engineers whom designed the motor discusses a few things. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1519825
Whilst I haven't used one personally, I've talked to a lot of local service/valet...
Rainbow Pool Products in Queenland stocks the refills and I'm pretty sure they have the complete kits.
