Advice on pump and filter replacement

I like the idea of the intelliflo3 so that it can control the SWCG. Certainly you can program the 3hp to low speeds so plumbing in theory shouldn't be a problem. I wonder if during priming (every time the pump first turns on it typically runs at max speed to prime) that the plumbing may not be...

Product for submerged concrete faux rocks to prevent Algae?

I have a very similar problem...possibly even worse since 1/3 of our water line is intended to look like bricks (sort of) so there deep crevices that we have to deal with. Sure, it's easy to say to always maintain your chemicals at perfect levels and there will never be algae. In reality we...

About to empty and refill my pool... (Las Vegas)

I'm in the Las Vegas area and did a drain & fill a couple weeks ago. The water was at least 5 years old. I did it primarily to lower CH but also so I could pressure wash a couple areas. Be sure to pump the water into the sewer system. The easiest way is likely to find a clean-out somewhere...

Truly torn - SWG or Chlorine

Pool builders give poor advice frequently. We see it constantly on this site when people come seeking help. I too would 100% go with the larger pump. It will be quieter and will use less electricity.

Is it time to get a new IntelliChlor?

The ICXX line may be discontinued but I'd be willing to wager there are plenty out there available for purchase.

    Digital PH Meter

I picked up the PH60 a couple years ago and regret it. I foolishly trusted it for a while even though I was surprised pH wasn't going up as it typically did. Turns out the PH60 was giving false results. Even after calibration I no longer trust it. There may be something better out there but...

Venturi style hot tub not aerating

A friend recently bought a home with an existing pool and spa. I'm not sure it matters but the spa is essentially separate from the pool. It shares a pump/filter/heater but the water doesn't mix (the spa does not spill into the pool). When in spa mode the water coming from the jets is plenty...

Converting to Rola-Chem for liquid chlorine dispensing

I've certainly tested CH in within the last year but don't often record results. Thanks to the high CH I intend to drain and fill in the next couple months

Converting to Rola-Chem for liquid chlorine dispensing

I used a Stenner pump to dose the pool with Chlorine. It was okay for while but certainly not perfect nor hands off. I stopped using it when the tank leaked over a gallon of chlorine into the ground, killing some nearby trees. The injector nozzle can clog which would stop chlorine flow...

    Tablets over winter

I'm in southern Nevada and use tablets in the winter. It's not a criminal act! It's easy and helps maintain CYA. Even with using tablets over winter my CYA will still end up quite low in the spring and I'll have to add CYA anyway.

Help needed - Pump is bad and considering automation options

You can probably still buy the intelliflo3 if you call a place like epoolsupply. It's no longer an online purchase if you do it over the phone. I bought a pentair pump from epoolsupply last year by doing this.

"The Pool Cleaner" Gearbox - 4-wheel vs. 2-wheel

I too read this somewhere. I have a two wheel and four wheel version. In my pool the two wheel version does a better job. I've considered doing the opposite swap that might allow the four wheel to work better in my pool. Hopefully someone jumps in with some details.

    Intelliph and Intellicenter

I've not installed an injector. I haven't purchased anything to make this happen. I actually have a stenner pump I could use for the project that I used for injecting chlorine a couple years ago. After the bucket holding the Cl broke and leaked chlorine into the ground killing adjacent plants...
