12" of snow on 24 foot round AGP ok?

Thank you so much for easing my mind! It was just 55 degrees the day before the snow hit, so I hope the pool water had time to freeze back for support before the snow! Thanks again...I was about to just rip the dang thing off for peace of mind, I'm glad I did not.

12" of snow on 24 foot round AGP ok?

Here in St. Louis some places have a foot of snow and I'm worried about it collapsing my AGP which is 24' round (hard sided permanent pool-not a Intex type pool) with a solid tarp. I do have a large tractor tire tube secured in the center, but it sleeted and there is slushy ice under about 8...

    Sand In Pool

Now I need to figure out how to get all the sand out of the pool! Some say it’s fine to caxuu to waste, others don’t. I’m not sure it will hurt the pump or not? I’ll have to research more on that.

Well that is what I was, the stand pipe on the new lateral assembly was just a tad too small, it has to be pretty snug. Got an attachment to go on it and all seems to be fine now.

    Sand In Pool

Well, rinsing and running didn’t work, so I emptied all the sand to check the laterals and all were fine. However, it seems like the opening in the bottom of multi port valve where the stand pipe fits is not snug, there is space. I’m thinking when the other stand pipe froze and busted it may...

    Sand In Pool

I opened it up and it is now only half full of sand. Should I still remove some and see what happens? I might just put it back together and run it on high and see just how much more sand will come out. At least then I will have to scoop less out of the filter tank if I have to inspect the...

    Sand In Pool

After looking up and researching, it is the Blue Torrent AC-196GS filter. And it does call for 175lbs of sand. I remembered that I took a picture of the box before throwing it away. There is no way that much sand will fit.

    Sand In Pool

My stand pipe didn’t have any markings, I wonder if they punched the hole in the wrong spot on the outside of the filter. So when I want to get the sand out of my pool I just vacuum it up while on filter, not to waste? I will try that and see what happens! I will update the thread when I do...

    Sand In Pool

Well I measured the outside of the sand filter, it’s exactly 60 inches, which would make the inside diameter about 19 inches or so, so I’m assuming it’s an 18 or 19 in diameter on the inside.

    Sand In Pool

Maybe I should measure the circumference of the tank to get a ballpark of inches. When there is too much sand, how does it technically get out into the pool from the filter? I think I will open it up and get some sand out and vacuum up and see what happens.

    Sand In Pool

I know! I had a hard time too searching for it when looking for the lateral assembly. It’s only about 3 or 4 years old at the most. I even emailed Blue Torrent to get help but got no replies.

Also, if you look below at the base you will see an opening where it looks like a pressure release hose or something goes in, this stand didn’t come with one. My last stand had one. Before I installed it I called the pool store and asked about it, and they assured me I did not need one for this...

    Sand In Pool

I agree, there is no way it was going to hold 175lbs, unless I’m reading it wrong?
