Sounds Familiar unfortunately

I just found a new Hayward C 75A for $477. Problem solved. I was searching for answers when I came upon a blog that said the lifespan of a DE filter is about 10 years. My filter came with the house when I bought it 20 years ago. Between the $ for parts and chemicals that I'm burning...

Not sure about electrical issue but it takes longer than 5 seconds to prime the pump.. You can run hose down the intake to fill the intake lines then replace the cover on the pump basket.. quickens the prime time.

Had that issue once.. There was a leak in the return line.. Do you see bubbles in the return or the filter pump basket cover

No bypass.. It's not a multi port valve.. Although, I didn't check the backwash valve... Next on the list...

While trying to fix the DE into the pool problem I noticed this am that there was green DE looking water that backed up into the clear tube that leads to the pump as well as the covered filter basket on the pump.. It's never done that before.. Could that be related to the DE into the pool...

By the whole unit I meant the finger assembly.. Yes.. same problem.. a bloom of dirty water, algae looking cloud shoots into the pool. The filter just isn't filtering like it use to. Pressure remains at 10 or so when it's operating.. Never builds.. Water remains cloudy..

swapped out the whole filter unit with one I bought on Ebay.. Same issue... I'm at a loss.

I received the replacement unit from the Ebayer I bought it from.. Swiped it out. Same #**** problem.. I'm now at a complete loss ... Can't figure out how it's getting though the fingers or why the fingers are not coating the way the should.. Pressure still won't go above 10-12 when running...

The only component I did replace was the bottom plate.. In lieu of doing that I just bought the entire assembly from someone on ebay.. I'm going to swap it out and see if it works.. The fingers you can get for $6 each on ebay but there are 52 of them.. The used assembly was $100. I'll let...

I hope your backwash valve isn't open..

The suction is working great and the returns are running strong.. If there was a blockage wouldn't the suction pressure be bad? It just seems like the water is coming in to the filter fine but is diverting the fingers on it's way back into the pool.. Also noticed this am green earth backed up...

use to run about 20psi.. now it's like 5-10. Pressure doesn't change when not vacuuming - - - Updated - - - Also, pool is turning on me which makes me think the filter is not doing it's job whether vacuuming or not ...
