Help! Cloudy water and possible conversion to bromine!

Am I missing something? What suggestions were offered and dismissed?

Help! Cloudy water and possible conversion to bromine!

Any suggestions would be appreciated! I just don’t want to be buying 5-6 gallons of chlorine per DAY to dump in here just so we can close the pool soon. I would close it today if I could - but I’m thinking it’s still too warm? (Average is still about 78 degrees here...).

Help! Cloudy water and possible conversion to bromine!

Or, should I just keep our automatic chlorinator loaded with trichlor tabs on high and not worry about cya levels?

Help! Cloudy water and possible conversion to bromine!

So would bromine tabs keep the level higher where I wouldn’t have to use gallons of liquid chlorine every day?

Help! Cloudy water and possible conversion to bromine!

It is a very large pool - 20’ X 50’ counting the spa (which is attached). It’s between 45 and 50k gallons. We added a total of 8 lbs of sodium bromide. Obviously, after learning more, I would never use that again. In fact, this was really a learning year for us and next year we’ll definitely...

Help! I have a few spots of green algae beginning to form on walls, but just did AA treatment 1 week ago!

I actually added a different algicide yesterday and brushed twice. I have polyquat 60 on hand - I didn’t add during the aa treatment because we had shocked and used an algicide right before the treatment and I felt like there was still quite a bit of residual in there. I was reading yesterday...

Help! I have a few spots of green algae beginning to form on walls, but just did AA treatment 1 week ago!

Thanks - so you don’t think I should just do a regular “overnight” shock with Cal-hypo or liquid chlorine and some additional sequestering agent? Can I do those at the same time? The reason for the late AA treatment is the fact that we didn’t get our pool up and running until late June (we just...

Help! I have a few spots of green algae beginning to form on walls, but just did AA treatment 1 week ago!

So we did an Ascorbic acid treatment on our 45,000 gallon pool (plaster) a little over a week ago (added sequestering agent, brought chlorine up slowly) and the pool looks great, I thought our chlorine had been holding, but this morning I noticed about 3 small areas of green algae starting to...
