Water flow. Pump, filter or heater?

Filter: Sta-rite System 3 Pump: IntelliPro VS+ SVRS Heater: Mastertemp 250 Chlorinator: IntelliChlor - IC40 My heater stopped firing on a few days back with a system error. After some troubleshooting I noticed it was due to the fact that it didn't think there was enough water flow through...

Please Help! Frogs in the Pool!

Results: Well, I clearly had less dead frogs *in the skimmer*. They were there. I would say I had less than 10 frogs in the skimmer and about half of them were dead. However, there were at least 20 in the pool. Again, half of those were dead. So the skimmer gives them an escape route, as I...

    Adding Stabilizer...

Received my new K2006 kit a couple days ago. Discovered my SWG pool has 25-30 CYA. It was recommended to me to raise that. So I bought some stabilizer in granular form. Instructions on the bottle: Broadcast into the pool, expect your filter to have high pressure for a few days, don't...

Cleared the Cloud, now what about CC?

I had my first cloudy experience over the past two days, since first opening the pool nearly a year ago. What i discovered was low FC, and apparently low CYA, and slightly high pH. As stated in other posts, my K2006 test kit did not arrive until the event started. (I also realized I measured...

    K2006 Confusion with CYA test

Thanks for your responses. I missed the whole 'little separate vile' thing. So I tested my CYA and it's 25-30 ppm. I tested twice to be sure. I have a vinyl pool with SWG. The timing of my installer just dropping by was perfect. In two days my pool has gone from crystal clear and me...

    K2006 Confusion with CYA test

Hi- The instructions on my K2006 test kit don't seem to match up with the markings on my Test vile. I'm confused. Can someone straighten me out? It says to fill to the 7ml mark. There is a 4.5 and a 9 mark. 9 is the top mark. It says to add to the 14 mark. ????? Thanks for your help. -jay

Please Help! Frogs in the Pool!

The last two nights I have had 25-30 frogs in my pool. I just spent 20 minutes fishing them out, then ordered the Critter saver thingy for my skimmer off amazon. Here is my concern after reading a bit about this. Most posts I read state the Frogs "live" in the pool. I have a number of dead...

Determining the safety of Pool Chemical products

Yes the k2006. Interesting point. For my 22,000 gallon pool, the Acid demand test recommended 3.x lbs of dry acid. (I think my pH was about 8.0) The side of the acid container recommends 1/2 that amount. I went with the test kit. Since last year I couldn't get the pH down according to lesser...

Determining the safety of Pool Chemical products

Funniest thing... I was just out on the pool calculator site, and my installer pulls into my driveway to bring me a brand new Taylor test kit. I guess I'm good to go now. lol.
