Best mesh cover for AG pool

Actually, I am planning ahead for next season. My solar cover works fine for keeping out leaves etc during the summer. My winter cover is pretty beat up though, and I like the idea of something that I do not need to clean out. Also, the inflatable pillow pulls the grommets and tears them. It...

My cover is shredded after this last winter. It's also filled with leaves and gunk. I have been checking out online vendors of mesh pool covers and the difference in prices is pretty big. $118 - http://www.poolcenter.com/winter_covers_enviromesh.htm $299 -...

    Grey stains on my liner

I noticed some grey stains on my vinyl liner after removing the solar cover. We have had a lot of rain and cool weather in the Northeast, so I haven't been in the pool much this year. The cover was on for a few weeks, and I didn't check much underneath it. When I finally pulled the cover off...

    Maximum safe chlorine

The Chlorine/CYA chart http://www.troublefreepool.com/category/pool-school/chlorine_cya_chart_shock tells me to shock my pool to 20 or 24 ppm. What level is the maximum that is safe for swimming after shocking?

    Ideal shock level?

Thanks, but why does my basic TC test kit only go to 5 ppm? I use the one supplied with the TF-100 for everyday testing.

    Ideal shock level?

Thanks. I have the test kit and just retested. I think I shocked to about 12 ppm. I was away yesterday so I cannot know for sure. This morning my FC/TC are at 10 ppm with 0 CC. Does this mean I shocked enough? Now, how do I drop my FC to 5 in a reasonable period of time? I use a solar...

    Ideal shock level?

OK. Thanks. I thought I could run FC a lot lower. More bad advice from my pool store =(

    Ideal shock level?

I have been trying to figure out the ideal shock level to bring CC down from 0.5 to 0.0. I referenced a number of forum posts and this chart: http://www.troublefreepool.com/category/pool-school/chlorine_cya_chart_shock My CYA is between 40 and 60. Am I right in reading that it is...

    Will horseplay hurt my pool?

Thanks. We get pretty crazy in there! If anybody else sees this post and has experience, please post; especially if you have seen the sides of a pool fail.

    Will horseplay hurt my pool?

I have a 24' round AG pool and my kid likes to make huge waves in it. He weighs over 200 lb, and the waves crest the sides of the pool. The ladder moves around quite a bit and the walls flex alot when he does this. He has a great time, so I would like to let him go, but I am worried about the...

Low Calcium Hardness and high Total Alkalinity

I have never needed to lower pH, but I have had to raise it a bit. It got as low as 7.1 or 7.2. The reason my TA went so high is that I was using Baking Soda to raise pH.
