The Liquidator - What is it?

"Better" from what perspective? If (a) it's crystal clear and (b) it's safe, what does "better" mean? I generally test once a week and add bleach once or twice a week. I run the pump a few hours a day and vacuum/brush once a week or so. I'm not asking to be a smart Rear - I'm just not...

The Liquidator - What is it?

If pouring bleach into my pool a few times a week is the alternative, I'm fine with handling it that way, I guess. I am pretty laid back in terms of how I maintain the pool. I typically just pour a few gallons of store-bought $1.69 bleach into the pool every week or so or if I see it getting...

The Liquidator - What is it?

What exactly is the Liquidator? I'm assuming it's a chlorine delivery system, but I can't seem to find the post/thread/site that tells me enough about it. If it is what I think it is, I want one. :) Can somebody point me to the definitative information resources for this?

    Pump/Heater Automation..

Yeah we are saying the same thing, I think. Thanks for the help.

    Pump/Heater Automation..

The more basic question is the one about the heater. Is the automation aspect simply interrupting the circuit? Can you leave a heater in an on/heating position and put a switch on the wall to turn it off and on?

    Pump/Heater Automation..

Another option, obviously.. http://www.smarthome.com/42659/Intermat ... 2AE45E4593 There is not currently a timer on my system. To be clear, I'd ideally like an iphone operated system, but I'll accept a mechanical timer in the meantime if an iphone solution is too unreliable/expensive, etc...

    Pump/Heater Automation..

Follow up question. I have a timer hanging on my wall in my basement that used to control an old sprinkler system. Looks like an Intermatic, actually. There is a chance that that would work for simply controlling the pump, right?

    Pump/Heater Automation..

http://www.swimmingpooltimeswitch.com/CD-104P-201.html I'm looking for a timer to control my pump and heater. I'm assuming this is it above. My general goal would be to have the ability to have the pump run maybe twice daily to clean/heat the pool - with the ability to manually override, of...

    Pump placement..

My pipes coming into the pump/filter area need to be blown up and rebuilt. I have 3 returns and 5 skimmers coming into that "closet" and the valves are all broken, etc.. Anyway - long story short - it would be much better for space purposes if I was able to elevate the pump a few feet. Right...

    DE, paper, or Sand filter?

Had a cartridge, replaced it with de and own a sand filter now as well. I'd go with de every day of the week. Simplified. De is best but requires maintenance. Sand is easy but doesn't clear as nicely.

    Temp filter setup

iPad version. :) Pool was in terrible shape. Tried filtering for a few days with little in the way of apparent results. Turned everything off on Saturday. On Monday decided to floc. 3 containers. Used a hose sprayer to apply it evenly over the pool. Expected signs of success within hours but...

    Temp filter setup

We are clean. I'll post my process later tonight just to keep a record in case it might help someone in a similar situation later.

    Temp filter setup

I get that about the algae and I'm dealing with it separately. However the pump pressure is at 6 and not changing after 16 hours of filtering basically pondwater and the filter water is just as dirty coming out.

    Temp filter setup

Ok. Not getting better and pressure not changing. Took the filter apart. Sand is about filled to about halfway. Not nearly enough right?
