    Added Borates with Acid Blue

Today I added Borate (Mule Team Borax) to my ABG 8600Gallon pool. First of all, my water balance was good. TA, pH and Free Chlorine were all within range. I started out by reading the post dated 4/26/2008. My wife stocked up on the Borax from the local grocery and I purchased 4 gallons of...

Yes my pump is on a timer, I run it 21 hours per day. It shuts down just after dark to rest for 3 hours.

Going on a long vacation, But what about the pool?

I've followed TFP for a few years and my pool is in excellent condition because of the help and support from this site. I have a 18' diameter AGP. 8600 gallons or so. My wife and I are planning on a 14-21 day vacation next year. I do my daily & weekly testing and adding of the liquid...

    First Test Results from TF100

Thanks Maddie (YippieSkippy) , After consulting the forum about the copper ionizer, I made the decision to remove it. I formerly used the TFP method a few years back with a Intex pool that we had at that time. I love the Pool Math and app. On my Intex pool I added borates and my family loved...

    First Test Results from TF100

I posted earlier that we have had a copper ionizer on our new AGP. Today was the day that I removed it. I delayed the removal until I could purchase some CYA for a chlorine stabilizer. Before adding anything I ran the TF 100 test and have the following numbers: Gallons 7500 FC 1.0 CYA 0 pH 7.8...

I fell for the sales pitch for the ionizer and now want to switch to TFP method

Thanks for the response Donldson. I've received my kit and the chlorine is being sucked up by the bright sun. I thought maybe it was just the copper in the water throwing off the test.

I fell for the sales pitch for the ionizer and now want to switch to TFP method

Let me just start out by saying that a fews years back I used this site and had a trouble free Intex 15' diameter pool. I never had any issues. The method works great! Three years ago we moved to a new home and this year my wife insisted on a pool. With the limitation put on us from the...

    Greetings from Kentucky!

I was on this forum a few years back and the method worked great for my little 15' diameter Intek pool. 3 years ago, we moved to a new house that was pool less. My wife has been on me about getting another pool. This year we decided to go for it. The original plan was for an inground pool but...

    Water Won't Clear

Thanks Jason, I just hope he keeps on it as instructed. I will convert him from Pool Store to BBB, it's been a long road, but when his water clears he will see that BBB is the best. I did check the skimmer for the vortex it seemed fine. I hope he has some positive results by tomorrow. The sun...

    Water Won't Clear

New numbers this morning @ 9am FC 5.0 CC 1.0 TC 6.0 pH 7.2 TA 80 CYA very near 50 I advised him to be consistent and test often. Also told him to add 1gal 3 quarts of 6% bleach to raise to 10. pH was discussed and he still wants to use the pH Up sold to him by the pool store instead of the...

    Water Won't Clear

Jason, thanks. This guy is Pool Store Sold. Hook, Line & Sinker. The first time I spoke with him about his pool and out BBB method he would just go blank on me. Now, after hundreds of dollars to the pool store he is coming around. I told him to be consistent and it was best to add the bleach in...

    Water Won't Clear

A friend of mine has a 18'x36' inground pool ranging from 3' deep in the shallow to 7.5 in the deep. Vinyl lined pool. The pool was closed by the local pool store this past winter and looking at the bill there is a string of "stuff" that they put into the water. I really have no idea what they...

    conditioner /stabalizer

I agree with Dave, Get a full set of numbers first. My advise for "sparkle" is to add borates to the pool. See how in the Pool School. It made a big difference in mine.
