Running pool all year instead of shutting it down for the winter.

We leave it going year round. I just reduce the number of hours a day the SWG runs since demand goes down. I pretty much ignore it and it runs itself.

OK does anyone have an Intex Waterfall..?

In my opinion this one is better. I have it and love it. Comes with the adapter to connect to the Intex inlet. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BX9XPZJX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

    Additional intake beyond skimmer?

What skimmer did you have that was able to smoosh flat and not crack and what was the pump rating? All of the skimmers I have had for above ground pools are rigid pvc type material that will not flex, only shatter.

    Additional intake beyond skimmer?

For low water level, this is not true unless you have a float valve in the skimmer, like with an in ground pool. Without that, if the water drops below the skimmer, it will suck air even with another suction port.

    Additional intake beyond skimmer?

My vote is to leave it as-is. All it will do is take away skimming power from the skimmer and I don't feel the side wall port does anything meaningfully for filtering. My current pool came with a 1,000 gph filter pump and it skimmed poorly. I upgraded to the 2,500 gph intex cartridge filter...

    Silver bubble insulation (reflectix-type stuff)

I feel like it isn't going to be a problem. The coating is robust and the wrap is loose, so air gets in there. Our last ultra frame at the old house was a salt pool and a couple years into it there were no signs of rust. I only expect a few years out of these anyway. Haha, Georgie. He...

Anyone have problems with the Intex clear view ?

Off topic... your pool and yard looks so good. Where did you get those clip on cupholders?

    Silver bubble insulation (reflectix-type stuff)

Sorry. I did try yesterday and kept getting an error. It worked now. :) The pool is 14x42. Circumference is 44 ft. I bought a 36"x50' roll on Amazon. No cuts for height, only cut length. The wrap shades the whole thing except between the skimmer and inlet. Too hot to work on detailed cutouts...

    Silver bubble insulation (reflectix-type stuff)

In addition to installing a fountain on the pool inlet, we also wrapped the pool in reflectix-type bubble foil stuff. We put the stuff in our RV windows while they are being hit with direct sunlight, so it occurred to us to do the same for the pool. We bought the right sized roll from Amazon...

    Fountain for cooling Intex pool

It isn't a degree or two for us. Water temp before was 92 at 3pm when we swim. After, at the same time, is 86. Huge difference. The first week we had it, we ran the pump 24x7 to cool overnight and get it down. Now I only have to run it about 10-12 hours to maintain. I did one other thing to...

    Do I need bigger hoses?

In my opinion, no difference. Look at the inlet fitting that came with the Intex 2500. It's narrower than the intex hose that came with it. I have the same pump and only the skimmer, no extra suction port. Tons of flow! With my previous pool a few years ago, I found little value in having the...

I have a Rhino pad sitting in my Amazon list for next year's setup. 80 bucks for the 15 foot round one. Looks pretty good to me.

    Fountain for cooling Intex pool

This is a little video of it in action. This is with the Intex 2500 gph pump. The fountain is at 50% fountain and 50% bypass for circulation. If I goo 100% fountain it's like Bellagio in the pool, haha. Fountain video
