Orenda SC1000 and zero chlorine (+ new SWG cell)

The weeds are a fine place to be ... and a good place to learn. Thanks for the input. For now, the SWG seems to be ok... damaged by the SC1000 and required cleaning of an otherwise brand new cell? we'll see... but I'll be very careful with Orenda products from now on. Why specifically Orenda...

Orenda SC1000 and zero chlorine (+ new SWG cell)

thanks... I think it was indeed the SC-1000 (which I'm now in hater-mode over). a week later, everything seems like it's performing as intended.

    DIY pool aerator

My $7 pool aerator … [from my Instagram post @redneckmodern] … the DIY #redneckmodern pool aerator there are several measures of alkalinity in a pool: pH and TA (total alkalinity). they are related but can also be different… #itscomplicated … when you lower pH with acid, it takes TA with it...

Orenda SC1000 and zero chlorine (+ new SWG cell)

Installed new Jandy TruClear cell after first one went bad after 5 years … no biggie. First day, the new cell performed well, it seemed. Thought I’d treat it well and added 32oz of SC1000 to the 10Kgal pool as scale has always been a problem. Fast forward 5 days, pool chlorine (total and free)...

    Cover-pools cover install: problems?

Thanks... I've reached out to them via their social media channel (I find this to be an oddly responsive shortcut to CS). They've been helpful, but given their method of distribution (dealer-install), they're not being specific. The bar definitely needs to be centered... and I'd estimate about...

    Cover-pools cover install: problems?

Thanks! ... I definitely agree on the centered part — that's even in the install literature. My concern is that — on the far edge, there's more "gap" than there is "bit" on the glider (i.e.: the glider is 5in long and there's a 3in gap (leaving 2in of bite)... and the fit is very loose...

    Cover-pools cover install: problems?

We're nearing the end of our pool build — it's been a tough process (details on that in another thread). We had a Cover-pool cover installed today. In many ways it's a nice (very expensive) addition, but two things concern me (and I don't expect to get a straightforward answer from my...
