@proavia and @Newdude here is the current situation. My son sent this to me so when I get home I can test all the levels. We have done nothing to it since the pool guy went MIA. Just kept thinking he would come back and fix it.

We have 36 acres and not enough rain so I have plenty of room to drain the water, but will have to get another section of drain hose to reach the pasture. I would rather pay the water bill than fight it for two weeks! I really should have just kept up with it myself instead of trusting it to...

Last year thanks to TFP and this forum we were able to enjoy our pool. This year we actually hired a pool guy to take care of it. That was a mistake! Now I am dealing with a black/green pool….AGAIN!! My question is, would it be beneficial to drain some of the water and fill with clean water...

I have met my water get out of balance and need to SLAM. Here are my current numbers. My thought is balance PH first, but not positive. In what order would you handle these? FC 0 PH 8.54 TA 140 CYA -at 20 the dot was still pretty visible

Sorry, I just saw this. We are all good now. SLAM went well and the water is happy!! Just finished doing weekly tests. I am curious though, pool math says TA recommended is 50-90 and ideal is 60-80. I am at 70. However, the instruction card that comes with my TF100 kit says ideal is 100-120?

Why must the OCLT be performed at 28 FC? I know I am 14.5 now, if I test in the morning and pass the OCLT, I am done slamming, right? If not, I bring it back up. Not arguing, just wanting to understand and not waste LC if I don’t have to.

Hey there, another question or two. 1. When using the TF100 to test FC, after it goes clear, if left sitting, it turns pink again within less than a minute. Do I continue to add R-0871 until that does not happen or just till it goes clear the first time? 2. My water has been clear for two...

Thank you again. Refilling now. I will do the calcs, make adjustments, and start to slam. I calculated the volume when we first purchased the house. I guess I will take this opportunity to do that again for accuracy.
